It's fine, god. Just a relatively minor injury for heaven's sake.

Repeat groin injuries for a goalie are something to closely monitor. Depending on severity that's something that could have long lasting issues since it's so critical to the position. Again, in a cap world, we can't let $3.8 million go to waste either. If Jack earns the starting position we'd be smart to clear him from the books.

Hopefully they don’t overplay Campbell and wear him out or get him injured .

and lol at people thinking Mzarek is easily moveable in the off season without us paying to get rid of him if he continues to be on and off the shelf , hell it won’t be easy to move him even if he plays to his avg and gets in 25/30 games

teams aren't taking on this contract without a sweetner (draft picks) which we don't have cause they've been traded away

If his performance becomes an issue , waive the guy next year. If someone picks him up fine, if not burry his 2 years on the farm.

He'll be fine. Jeez louise...

He's not the first and won't be the last goaltender to have a groin injury. I don't know when groin injuries have become the equivalent to losing a limb. Just ask Andersen and Campbell last season.

He’s always been a bandaid and the term is a year too long. Should’ve let another GM make that mistake.
He's 1 year removed from playing a 40 game season.

But his history is undeniable, which always made him a poor choice for a contingency plan when you have your blossoming #1G in a contract year.

Definitely nowhere near to being the ideal way to start off his time with the team thus far. No need to sound the alarms just yet though either.

Not something I am overly panicked about yet to the point of saying he has to be moved in the offseason.

Give the guy time to properly heal, then we see how he performs before making any decisions. It's only been a few weeks into a 3 year deal here.

Worrisome. If Campbell ever went down with an injury we’re screwed. It would be Hutchison/Woll, eeesh.

I don't know what to say. Not a great impression and his game against DET was nothing to write home about.

He needs to heal properly. This cannot happen when the season gets long.

Awful lot of dead cap if he goes to the Marlies via waivers.

yup , we can bury him but roughly only half his salary and we still have to replace his spot in the lineup so even if we sign another bargain bin guy we'd only save a few hundred K

best case scenario if we bury him is a rookie steps up and actually gives us some value over compared to another cast off

Burying him means about $2.65M of wasted cap space, so even a league min rookie replacement is the equivalent of paying him around $3.4M. So yea, about $400k savings and a league min goalie.
