I was very interested to learn that most dog owners prefer shock collars to train their dogs. As a prospective dog owner I was curious about the ethics of this issue. Some say the collars shock too hard, but most people just use a light setting which the dog feels as a tap and nothing serious.

Or if you’re @John Price just toss it in the crock pot.
Shock collars are necessary for training K9s in the military

Why wouldn't they be allowed for personal use

I think there is confusion about the shock. The shock is a light tap. It doesn't hurt the dog. It's not like you're strapping a dog to an electric chair FFS. It's a light buzz, it corrects behavior and helps train dogs. There is nothing harmful here.

You’re full of shit anyway you’d never adopt a dog. You can’t even take care of yourself.

Why am I not surprised that you support the use of a restrictive, abuse tool.
