I realize that some players prefer not to engage in confrontation but some only prefer confrontation if it directly involves them rather than the team. I tip my hate to players like Stewart, Backes, Nichol, Jackman, Reaves, and even sometimes Shatty that will stand up for their teammates when the opposition is taking things too far even if they are out-muscled. That drama last night when Perron got speared by Franzen was shameful, everybody skates at a slow pace especially Berglund.. What happened to the pride in going to war and standing up for your teammates? Makes me miss Big Walt.

St. Louis against San Jose in the playoffs last year is the kind of intensity they need. If Detroit out-muscles St. Louis the way they did how do you think the Blues would fair against a team like Boston or Philly when it comes to banging it out. The all-around toughness (during the whistle, after the whistle, in front of the net) needs to be addressed because the half-season has made every game have playoff intensity.
