Avenue Z and Ocean Avenue are supposedly where the two of them were. My father works with someone at Con Edison who grew up down there in the area in Brooklyn and said that's Little Russia, the area where the Russian mob is usually hanging around, he says. He's already talking about how they should trade these two (the friend) because if they're hanging around down there, then according to him, that spells trouble. Bathhouses down there and stuff, too. Massages and a bit extra, etc. Me, personally, I can't see either getting into off the ice trouble of anything significant, but what do I know. I would also think if Shesterkin was trouble and his head was elsewhere, he wouldn't have been 9-1 with a .940sv&.

EDIT: I see a lot of you have mentioned where the accident took place. Little late to the party here.
It's not unusual to want to hang where the food and the language is familiar.

It's good nobody got seriously injured. Maybe the youngsters will appreciate the privilege of driving more. At that age we take a lot for granted. As I have gotten older, my eyes have deteriorated, can barely hear anymore, my joints hurt, and I fall asleep all the time. But thank God I can still drive! LOL

That is where they crashed? I was trying to turn there yesterday probably right after it happened and that whole block was blocked out by police, now it makes sense.

Yeah, I was told about the Russian bathhouses when I mentioned they crashed In Brooklyn. Also lots of vodka ( i doubt he was drinking) But they probably went there to get some authentic Russian food? Who knows?

I asked this earlier but how fast do you have to be going to hit someone making a illegal u- turn and have airbags deployed?

i should have said Joe's Clam Bar or Sizzler. and then headed to Pip's afterwards for some laughs.

Emmons Ave used to be rad when I was 6 years old.

for real, though, they should learn the subway system. not too hard to get down here from Manhattan
I used to work at that famous Seafood Restaurant Lundy's a block away, back in the day. Then after work head over to Captain Walters for some drinks. Their ladies night on Tuesdays was a can't miss.

Per google:

8 to 14 mph
Frontal air bags are generally designed to deploy in "moderate to severe" frontal or near-frontal crashes, which are defined as crashes that are equivalent to hitting a solid, fixed barrier at 8 to 14 mph or higher. (This would be equivalent to striking a parked car of similar size at about 16 to 28 mph or higher.)

How do the airbags go off when driving in brooklyn... My mom hit a deer at 35mph last year and the airbags didn't go off...

8:30pm on a Sunday night, people are generally off the road. and depending on the lights (green or not), they probably pushed it a little more than they should have been, but. dudes in their early 20s like to drive fast.

also the person who pulled a U-ie is a douchebag.

That's a load of shit.

I grew up ten blocks away from there and it's a residential middle class neighborhood. Yes, it's now heavily Russian but ordinary residential. They have Russian restaurants there and that's why the players go. Zubov brought the Cup there in 1994. The Russian mob is more in Brighton Beach than Sheepshead Bay, but that's Russian residential too, just lower economically. Also, ten blocks away from that spot is Manhattan Beach with million dollar + houses. I left Sheepshead Bay because I could afford to and wasn't crazy about living in a Russian neighborhood but that's because Russians are very clickish and have no use for you if you're not one of them. Nothing to do with anything seedy or the Russian mob.
Which is why I tend to agree with you. Just figured I'd pass along the info.
