Someone else brought this up a while ago, but what if Loktionov was actually a pick that we drafted?I guess this conversation is bordering on monotonous at this point, if it hasn't gotten there already, but in terms of Loktionov being "overrated," I just don't think a lot of posters understand how much potential he has. His ceiling is a legit first-line center and he's gonna start to show that sooner rather than later, I think.
The other thing I don't think people realize is that he's an excellent two-way forward. His underlying numbers were great last season, and he's been relied upon defensively at every level of play so far. I don't care if he's better than Zajac or Henrique or not because all three of them are excellent players that could be one of the top groups of centers in the league if they get their act together. Throw a guy like Josefson on the fourth line and we're talking about depth rivaling 2000/2001 as far as I'm concerned.
So yes. Loktionov could be good. Zajac should be good. Henrique will likely be good. It's weird but any one of them could be our first line center by the end of next season, and that really excites me.
I really like him. There's some guys like PSEG (No offense) who made the outlandish 50 point or I'll delete my account prediction. I do think he's pretty good. His faceoff win rate has to be better, I agree with people there. That's why I wish he can play wing. I do understand people being cautious though.
He also has an excellent shot.
