Feel like this is going to be the norm this year. Should be able to take care of bad teams, do well enough against ‘decent’ teams in their weight class but struggle against elite teams. A shame they couldn’t get two points against a Devils team without their big guns though because winning one against Carolina or Vegas this weekend is going to be a tough ask.

Will be an interesting stretch coming up for the Pens. They have had a cupcake schedule so far this year (Stars, Avs, Kings and the Devils are the only playoff teams from last year they have played). Games against the Canes, Vegas and Rangers should give us a bit more of an indication if they will be competitive in the east this year.

I mean, teams have bad games. These kind of games just happen. Screaming at the players isn't going to really do anything, sometimes teams just have off nights.

How we respond against the Canes could be VERY telling about how the rest of the season will go. Even if we lose, if we at least play our asses off there could be hope
