Yep lol…he stayed out there and I don’t know if it was planned but good thing he did because he made that goal with a very stellar pass…

Blues are not the team that won the cup. Just not a team that plays hard like they used to. they got hot and won the cup but I suspect that was just a one and done for the franchise. Not keeping O'Reilly I guess is just a rebuild and move on now.

+++ZMR - best game together. Rust is back. Zucker good. Geno very very good. It looked fantastic.
+++Kappy - good job cashing in, dude. Playing smart hockey as well.
++POJ's backcheck and skating...maybe guy really has been our top prospect for years. He has top 4 potential.
+Sid/Jake/Rakell didn't do much on the scoresheet aside from the empty net entitlement, but they played well
++Tedd/Archibald/Poehling

---Kappy wasn't out for the EN. Why?

One particular backcheck by POJ was pretty terrific. I've been impressed by his skating and general positioning.

The Pettersson effect...if he can put on a little more muscle he's on his way to a great top 4 guy.

++++Armstrong on the broadcast brings out the truth serum. It was so refreshing to hear him rip on PP1 at the outset and then Errey/Army starting discussing it substantively instead of dancing around the issue.

I know it was often a chucklefest but a much more engaging listen. Errey/Armstrong have a real manic chemistry.

I missed this one but I'm just glad to see my favorite player playing at the level I always knew he could. Meows for Kap.

In all seriousness, I hope this keeps up. Two of Kap's strongest games since coming back to the Pens--and kind of independent of the scoresheet. Dude's just playing really well and has been playing with a focus as opposed to just being the guy who kills the play whenever the puck's on his stick.

I might watch a replay just to see Binnington's meltdown. Dude's as unlikable as any player in the league--easily top-5 for me. Can't f***ing stand that guy.

It was nice seeing Rust use his speed tonight. His best game of the year. If he can play like that in a semi consistent basis , we’re going to have a dangerous top six. But the Geno line was A+ tonight.

Also a plus to Ruh for coming in the last couple and not missing a beat.

Is there a reason we got Armstrong again? replace Mears with him please.

Genuinely hope Kap keeps it up. I know he's not gonna be a 2pt per game guy or anything, but sorting out that 3rd line and having Rust come back to life for Geno's 2nd line would be gigantic. Maybe this team doesn't do anything in terms of legit competing, but they'll be so much better to watch.

It's also amazing what scoring a couple on the PP will do. Instead of a nail-biter game going down to the wire, capitalizing twice on the PP meant breathing room with the lead.

How many games this year have they blown because they're leading by 1 or 2 goals and have a PP or two to really put the game away, but they don't score on the PP and the game stays relatively close for the opposition to come back.

I think Colby works when he wants and a certain # of home games per year.

Mears is boring but a competent PBP guy. If Colby replaced anyone full-time it would be Errey. But together Colby/Errey were dynamite tonight. Great chemistry...it reminded me of a Steigy/Errey broadcast in terms of the manic goofiness but more insight/less cringe.

...Mears is Marcus Pettersson
