Graves and Shea last night was one of the worst performances I witnessed, totally incapable of getting puck out of zone, just got lucky that they did not get scored on multiple times
Now that may have been more due to Shea being total trainwreck, but still and Geno got the honor to have them behind a lot

I don’t really get the complaints about Shea on here.

He’s incredibly mediocre, but is essentially just Chad Ruhwedel 2.0. The difference being he isn’t taking a spot from anyone. Our AHL defense depth is hideous.

I feel like Graves is a decent bottom pair D that is just grossly overpaid, he was carried to relevance by playing on a good pair and the Penguins grossly overpaid him for what he is. If he was on a $2 million AAV deal rather than a $4.5 million AAV deal, I think people would have fewer issues with him. He's a bigger Chad Ruhwedel when he was paid to be a Dumoulin replacement.

I'm not sure what Lysell does for them at this point. They're crazy deep at forward in WBS and I'm not sure Lysell is much of an upgrade on the NHL roster.

I think they need to be looking at defensemen if they're targeting those former high pick reclamation project types. I don't see many sports for forwards with how the team is sitting, both in the NHL and AHL.

I just picked the first name that I recognised whose age and points totals looked interesting, but looking at the Bruins forum, I feel like he looks interesting (if the price is right) as a guy who should be a lot more than he is and who could benefit from a shake up trade. The tools are there, it's just not quite working. And as discussed with the Hoglander trade rumours, there's potentially a ton of space opening here soon.

Still, plenty of other names, some of who might make more sense.

I would be all for it. But I don't think Ole Jimmy would be too keen on what we'd willing to offer in return. And it would certainly be bettered by other teams.

I think where the Pens are at the TDL will dictate moves. Petts with Pickering up and Graves contract just being hard to move, is the player who will be moved for a top pick.

This team is absolutely not in a position where they should be trading assets for a guy like JT Miller. If they were, they should have just paid Guentzel what he wanted last off-season.

Honestly the guy I like from Providence is Poitras. Made the NHL last yera as a 19 year old and had a decent season (15 points in 33 games), but really struggled this year and got demoted back to the AHL where he's doing well.

I can't imagine the Bruins would be interested in trading him, though.

This team is absolutely not in a position where they should be trading assets for a guy like JT Miller. If they were, they should have just paid Guentzel what he wanted.

The team apparently can't even tank properly.
They're on track for a draft pick that might be more mid than Rust. While high end talent, especially in 30s, should be avoided another top 6 option might be a good option.

Right now, the big decisions are Pettersson, the goaltending and the middle-six forwards imo. There is no way we can continue to win games consistently with the lack of production we are receiving from the likes of Drew O'Connor, Anthony Beauvillier and the two players we scratch up front (Hayes and Puljujarvi, through no fault of his own). Tomasino has had a couple of mediocre performances and he is already in Sullivan's dog house (shocker). Glass is clearly not as good as the No. 2 RW as he is as the No. 3 C.

The first line is dominating right now, and Bunting and Malkin can and are producing. If we can put a third line together with Glass and Tomasino together, then I think it starts to look interesting. Lizotte is perfect in that fourth-line center role and Acciari is much better as a winger and always has been.

O'Connor on the fourth line would improve the depth, too. I suppose we could either call up Koivunen or reinsert Puljujarvi to play on the third line, which leaves us with a hole at No. 2 RW (again).

I wonder if we could get a top-six winger for Pettersson. This defense is scary without him, but his departure is likely only a matter of time. I would still look to see what it would cost to keep him. Marcus Pettersson is invaluable for this team at this time. The other option might be to trade a goaltender. Jarry seems to have righted the ship TO SOME EXTENT, and Nedeljkovic was always the easier player to move. I wonder if Ned for a young-ish winger makes sense. Would the Habs have interest? Does Ned for Joshua Roy make sense?

I also think we should keep an eye on Dallas. I think they are planning changes soon. There are lots of forwards on that team who could help. Obviously, Pettersson would interest them.

This team can make the playoffs, like it or not. We just need middle-six forward production and we are getting nothing from the third line. It's a problem.

Even if you are trying to make the playoffs you waana move Petts.

PIT will want a young player and a pick or prospect. IF and I do emphasize the word ''IF'' they stay in it they'll likely want a current player plus a pick and or prospect. That helps pacify the locker room as well as get a piece or two for the future.
