I'm just, like... f***in' bewildered as to how or why this team's allowed Sullivan to operate with impunity for so long. It just makes no sense. I know guys who make the SCF and/or win have leash for a long time in this league, but like, we're closing in on a decade without a playoff round won. They're gonna miss for a third time in a row, and this time probably by miles. He's shown a fanatical aversion to playing youth. He's shown a complete unwillingness or he's simply incapable of coaching guys that don't arrive as fully finished products.

It's bizarre. I'm gonna get so f***in' stoned the day Sullivan's fired, man. Gonna celebrate like when Kissinger died.
I have a couple of very high end scotches and some cigars in my humidor that I've been saving for a special occasion that I'm going to f***ing enjoy the moment that f***ing loser is fired.

Hell I might even cry a little.

The frustrating thing is that if it is the roster and Sullivan isn't the problem, then why the hell haven't you nuked the roster yet and gone into the full rebuild?

I think Sullivan needs to go obviously, but they need to do something. At minimum, they need to either nuke the roster and intensify the rebuild or bring in a new coach and see if you can salvage the current roster.

Dubas is just as complicit as the issues of the rebuild as Sullivan, if not more so.
You're literally f***ing asking this now?

Jesus f***ing Christ.

The amount of roster turnover this team has had since 2018 is f***ing insane. Yet the team slowly kept sucking with the shit usage Sullivan kept showing more and more of. As well as 3 Gm's getting more of his type of players only for him to keep failing with those types and the GM gets the blame or the players.

It's not the f***ing players.

Jets fan here...saw a story on Sportsnet (I believe) that suggested EVEN Crosby could be on the market as Pitt goes full rebuild..

Highly unlikely, I know BUT what would the expectation be in a trade for the still great player?

Ballpark - a 1st + 2 top young players + a top prospect?

It's pointless to even talk about because it's not going to happen.

Sure, whatever. Honestly don't really give a shit anymore. He's just gonna rot in this dead-end organization until he retires after the '26 Olympics. There's not even really hope he'll climb the points leaderboard because of how ratf***ed everything is here.

Won't happen though.

I was very surprised his name was even mentioned.

Cheers.
A number of Canadian reporters are ignoring everything Crosby has said and keep trying to manifest this idea that he'll change his mind.

He just signed an extension a couple of months ago. He's repeatedly said he greatly admires players who have played for only one organization. He convinced Malkin and Letang to stay to finish out their careers together.

Crosby isn't going anywhere.

If you fire Sully and the team continues to bottom out, well, the team just sucks. But you've also fired a coach that hasn't done f*** all since 2018, and seems to be the death knell for prospects. You've shown that despite emotional bullshit, you (eventually) hold guys accountable. That's important imo.

If you fire him and the team stabilizes, well, then you've also made the right choice because he was a colossal problem.

Either way, you fire the dude after the season imo. It sucks, but keep him around and ride losers like Jarry, Ned, Bunting, Beau, Grz, etc. to secure that (hopefully) top-3 pick. Then you fire him on April 18th so as not to let him have any influence on the draft or off-season moves. I think that's the best way to go about it, shitty as it is to have him around for another 6 months. It's better in the long run that this team secures a prospect like Hagens, Martone, Misa, or Schaefer.

Just read this:

"Ideally, Edmonton would be able to add both Pettersson and O’Connor in one trade package. This would take a minimum of a first-round pick and probably a good young asset like Matthew Savoie or, perhaps, 2024 first-round pick Sam O’Reilly. Even then, it’s not a slam dunk that Penguins GM Kyle Dubas would settle for that, as a bidding war for their assets is likely to erupt as the trade deadline draws closer."

Savoie seems like a toxic prospect, is he this poorly received around the league?

Don't care. Deal. Done. Sign off on it and send the paperwork to the head office. No take backs.

Always kinda thought Frost had more to offer and was just ratf***ed by Torts' coaching. Now, not much is gonna change if he becomes a Penguin. This season at least (they're gonna fire Sully after the RS you f***s, let me dream!).

Who could Philly want going the other way?
I imagine a guy like DOC is attractive to a Torts-led Philly team.

-edit- Petts too, probably, but I'd hope for more than Frost coming back in exchange for Petts. Piggybacking off the Edmonton thing above, maybe Petts+DOC for Frost and a 1st. Philly has 3 1st rounders iirc. Edmonton's (top-12 protected) and Colorado's in addition to their own.
