I have an algorithmic process that I am not willing to disclose on how I would select a player based squarely on their HW Matrix score
That same algorithmic process is what Pettersson is using for his diet & training regimen this summer, right?

Actually, I've come full around on appreciating how turtling absolutely infuriates the opposition.Maybe biz nasty taught Legare how to be a bitch, now to teach him how to punch a guy.
only if the ref's are willing to put only one guy in the box. seems some like to penalize guys for taken punches.Actually, I've come full around on appreciating how turtling absolutely infuriates the opposition.
While I admit its appeal, you will drive yourself crazy by pursuing this line of reasoning. Every team shares in this pain.We still should have drafted Pasta in 2014, just like we should have drafted Forsberg in 2012. Then we wouldn’t have had to waste 1sts & prospects on Kap & Zuck trades, and we probably would have an extra Cup and being a legit contender every year.
Also, not traded for Perron & drafted Barzal, or Connor, taken Hintz over Sprong, and not done the Reeves trade and move down and take Jason Robertson instead of Lauzon.
Is any of the above really too much to ask for in reality? I think not….
I thought jmelm was being facetious. I agree about Pouliot, but the variable most don't consider is that Forsberg would likely have suffered a series of freak injuries as a promising forward in the Pens org and never amounted to much. While I admit its appeal, you will drive yourself crazy by pursuing this line of reasoning. Every team shares in this pain.
To be fair, I think about our insane decision to take Pouliot when Forsberg fell into our laps every second day. Pouliot contributed nothing, whereas Forsberg quickly became a superstar that would have prevented the Perron trade and all the unfortunate events that followed. But maybe in this alternative timeline, we never make the Kessel trade and never win back-to-back cups. We should just take heart in the incredible success our team has had.

You mean to tell me the 18 year old Pickering hasn't put on 35lbs of lean muscle mass in the two months since he's been drafted?
Pretty sure @jmelm was being sarcastic, but you never know.
I dont see any slander to our lords Craig Adams and Tanner Glass.Mods! Ban this man!
Slander against our role model are forbidden.

he just needs to talk that fellow on how to randomly put on a bunch of lean muscle in just one off season. no steriods involved, no none...
Ate a lot of McDonald’s and worked out until he was soaked? In high school (early 1980's) a kid on my bus put on tons of weight and muscle and I was clueless to how he did it. I figured it out years later.

I should cultivate some mass for the coming winter. Can any of our fitness experts here please offer me tips?

From the STH surprise visits today.
Our focus is always on the players but Michelle has made Pens media more tolerable for a long time. Always improves the atmosphere.
So shout out to her.
You can all poke fun about this stuff but I'm not sure anyone else here has a Masters in Exercise Physiology. So I will continue to half jokingly critique certain players slight frames.
You also couldn't afford my training. I'm only taking on malnourished Euro Defensemen at this time.
Though I may ask @Andy99 for some legal advice regarding my growth by any means necessary program.
She doesn't understand hockey or think on the level Taylor does.Michelle is probably one of my least favorite Penguins media people tbh.
And it's not because she is a female. Taylor is probably in my top 3.
She's the ultimate company shill. Which is fine I guess since she is actually an employee of the organization.

But I value her ability to make the players and coach smile, and put them at ease. This helps generate better answers.
This is an extremely important skill when you have to conduct like a billion boring interviews with guys throughout the year.
For example that first interview with Pickering was way better than it would have been if he didn't find her charming.
Also she helps set the standard for respect with her co-workers. Our media is less toxic with each other than most. The room prospers.
That's true. Our media is milquetoast. But the extreme alternative is worse. Then you get something like how it was in Toronto.I suppose.
I think the big issue with the Penguins media is exactly what you are outlining. There are never tough questions asked. Michelle is the perfect encapsulation of that. She parrots the BJC stuff and is boring as hell on social media.

Maybe the interviews would be more interesting for the fans but it would weaken our organization. Players wouldn't wanna come/stay here as much. Some guys play would suffer. It would create distractions in the room.
We'd also have guys skirting media responsibility as much as possible, with brief answers, glum faces and hostility.
As fans we don't really see how much impact the media has, because we only see them briefly. The players are around them all year.
I liked the fishing trip with Burke. But yeah content was pretty poor.My favorite thing I've seen from our media this summer was how McGinn's projected output of 22 points in 78 games was preposterously high.
