Still rather have Lowry. I like Brassard, but not at the cost of Lowry who is excellent at what he does.

If anything, Jets will be looking to shore up the defense.

Doesn't change the fact that he clearly is oblivious in this case, though. Lowry beats Brassard comfortably in the role they would both play.

Calling him the best 3rd line centre is a stretch because he doesn't put up a lot of points. But he's infinitely more valuable to the Jets compared to Brassard.

Lowry gets the tough defensive assignments and PK time. Losing Lowry and replacing him with Brassard makes the Jets a worse team. Lowry is very important to the Jets and does a job Brassard can not fill.

Why? Does points the only thing that matter? If points only matter Gardiner would be a 1D.

The exact same reason the Pens would want to trade him, poor fit, is the exact same situation with the Jets....he’s a poor fit on our 3rd line and he doesn’t offer much of an upgrade at 2C. Brassard would fill no need on the Jets this year. No interest in Brassard at what he would cost

Why?

Jets 1 and 2 centres are good, two way centres. Lowry is a very good shutdown centre.

Brassard can't do what Lowry does, and Little (arguably) and Scheifele (without a doubt) as offensive centres are better than Brassard. At the very least, he's somewhat redundant.

Brassard could be a good player for the Jets, but not at the expense of Adam Lowry.

For those who don't actually watch the Jets, Lowry is a core guy (despite his point totals). Big centers like him that can match up against the opponents top lines and win the match-up are invaluable come playoffs. Plus he's great on faceoffs and on the PK, and he's an extremely intelligent player. He's a classic example of a guy that is worth far more to his team than he is on the market.
