Who is the Shootout King? Is it still Datsyuk? Or one of Kane, Toews, Oshie or Barkov?

Datsyuk easily comes to mind as one of the best to ever do it from 2000-2015.

He scored 40 shootout goals on 98 attempts for a 40.8% during his career.

Is Barkov the new king from 2015 on?
He has scored 33 goals on 67 attempts for 49.3%.

Any other players in the mix for an often underappreciated skill?
The shootout has become more exciting than the current 3 on 3 OT imo.

I’m drawing a blank..who was that ~3rd line guy from 10 years ago that had an impossible to stop forehand to backhand shot?

Are you thinking of Radim Vrbata? He had a move like that when he was on the Coyotes and it seemed like he would score on it every single time.

I found the numbers on him, and apparently he finished 45 for 105 on shootout attempts or penalty shots, which is good for 67th all time of players with a minimum of 10 attempts.

I think amount of goals and attempts needs to be added for context?
Robertson has only been in the league for what 5 years? Does he even have 20 attempts yet?

Jussi Jokinen?
Lol. I’m sure there are a few guys that fit my vague description. In theory the forehand-backhand is probably the best basic move because if the goalie cheats for the backhand you can just wrist it in

Idk if it's Franz Nielsen you are thinking of, but he was a shootout master and had a very simple forehand-backhand elevate move that was his bread and butter.

Jason Allison is my GOAT, kids today still don't have the nifty mitts to pull off his moves.
