Pretty sure I remember Rosen saying it was a phone hearing, so expect minimal punishment followed by maximum "hollywood" outrage

I admit. It might be hilarious to see what happens if he only gets fined. I expect a game or two.

I think most people have been reasonable about it so I have less revenge mojo than usual, but it would be a bit funny to see that just to see the group of people--who actually exist--going "Tanner Pearson is a dirty player and he was just out looking for a predatory hit, give him 20 games to send a message" flip the **** out.

Is there any better angles of the hit, the two angles I saw on Twitter appear to be no hit to the head.

He hit him right on the button. Shoulder to jaw.

Flash KO as the big guy went Bambi legged on the way down.

Accidental for sure and its a player with no history. Since it is Pearson, there might not be any regular season games lost. If someone with a bad rep made this hit, they would be sitting for sure.

Agree
I don't think there are many Kings fans saying, no punishment. He wasn't aiming for the head but it was the principle point of contact. Given history (none), intent and injury suffered, he will likely miss Vegas. If he misses one regular season game, I wouldn't argue too much. Odds are he was only playing in one Vegas game anyway

This will sound cold, but the recipient is someone very few people have an emotional attachment to. Most just don't care. Put McDavid's jersey on him, and the exact same circumstances will have very different responses.

Andrew Shaw got suspended the remaining preseason for jumping a guy which he had clear intent. LOL player safety consistency

@nhlplayersafetyL.A. Kings’ Pearson suspended for remainder of preseason and 2 regular season games for illegal check to the head.

I guess the league is now pro-Golden Boy's team, and anti-Hollywood. Now they just have to give him his goal back.

That's a pretty ****ing brutal move by the league.

No consistency, once again.

Also, I know the Hollywood thing is a meme, but the league has been ridiculous with Kings suspensions for/against for awhile now.

Nolan suspensions, Lucic last year, only one game for Keith with the stick swinging.

No history but gets two games, plus the pre-season ones? Yeah guys...we choose Pearson as the player to finally take a stand with. Shaw has a history and lays a retaliatory hit and just misses the rest of the pre-season? Pretty unbelievable.

Well, they are consistent in making inconsistent decisions.:help:
Here's for a speedy recovery for the Oilers guy:nod: but this has to be said:
The NHL player safety decisions are getting more ******** with every decision they make. That is quite impressive, considering the incredibly low level of their past decisions...:handclap:
For being consistent in inconsistency of their calls I wish the decision group of the NHL player safety gets a giant, stinky rat for their desert. Good Appetite!

Yup, I don't disagree with the Pearson suspension but am pissed with the inconsistency. Pearson's suspension is not on the level of others, but I feel others should have been more severe and not Pearson less.

Oh for sure I'm good with it. Just as others have said, the NHL just made itself look dumb (as usual) with the Shaw suspension vs. this one.

agreed, but others should be higher too. Hopefully this is the new standard. As in they updated their standards in a week

It's not a new standard coming. Anything more must include the offer of in person hearing. Anything over 6 games can and will incur an appeal.
The players aren't any more serious about removing these things than the owners. And where any appeal goes to Bettman first after that it goes to the neutral arbitrator. And the NHLPA knows full well they almost always side with the players over the owners.
