Think it was how Lalonde talked few games ago. That power-play has to be faster, more tic-tac-toe plays. He didn't mention any players but generally that.

Now afterwards, it's really how Kane plays. Too slow. Too easy to predict for the PK unit. He should move and pass, not be stationary. Or pass faster.

I think it's partly that everyone else is too deferential to Kane on the power play. He always is the one they give the puck to to carry it into the zone. He's the one they're looking to pass to first.

If they treat him as just another part of the power play it may free him up and get him going and make the power play less predictable.

All in all not impressed so far this year. If he's giving it his all then maybe he should move on. Some great players just don't age well in their later years. I think 46 yr old Datsyuk could still play better than him right now.

Because there are no dots to connect? Converting chances has been bad but effort and getting chances has been good the past two. Better than prior.

If Kane were on the 4th line like Sprong was no one would care about his lack of effort.
Yeah I think if Kane were getting limited minutes with a big offensive zone time push like Sprong was he'd have less complaints. We just aren't a good enough team to cover up his 5 on 5 issues in a top 6 role. (Same for Tank for that matter)

If we can get a breakout game going like last year he can still be effective offensively but he can't play dump and chase. If you get him time he still has a great shot and can thread the needle well but this team isn't really built that way.

Lalondes current system is not built for 1 way offensive wingers to succeed.

It is noticeable when Kane is not on the team, i don't know what it is. But he's so good on the PP, and i think in the long run the team is better off with him.

Also, his personal shooting% is at 7, compared to his career average of 11.6, so he's been slightly unlucky. His oiSH% on ES is at 7, compared to his career average of 10, so he's been unlucky. I think that a correction will come soon.

A player i'm more concerned about is Compher, his production has been abysmal, and his possession metrics are terrible. Unfortunately there is little indication that his lack of production can be contributed to bad luck. If this keeps up, we're looking at a terrible contract down the road.

Compher's faceoff percentage has been declining as well, which puts more pressure on Copp, Kasper and Veleno.

I'm still trying to figure out who it's built for.

Me too. I think he wants really low risk hockey that is really mostly concerned with high level chances against, eventhough we bleed them lots of times. When we get leads of 1 or 2 goals and we hit past the mid way point-3rd period of the games we always stop pressing. I find that hard to believe is just on our lack of overall skill and not a coaches choice. Hate the style we play, whatever it is called as the things that get you the lead should be how you play all night. I get sitting back with 2-3 minutes left, but sitting back regardless of team just surrenders chances and shots against and eventually you will blow leads doing this.

PP wise yes, but honestly the moment Kane joined the team we started playing worse then before he joined us last year. I think there is at least something to maybe him not being a great fit for our roster chemistry wise for whatever the reasons could be. He definitely gives me the vibe of not truly giving a shit, and having seen lots of other skill guys who didn't give that vibe for me makes it possibly true. Like Ray is a skill guy but I don't get the don't give a shit vibe from him.

I remember people here getting on Leddy for looking like he didn't want to be here, but I get a much bigger of that kind of feeling from Kane.

The only reason I like to keep Kane it's make chance for Lombardi to play with him
Lombardi Kasper Kane
They could have it as third line.
