Schenns ,,Vinny, 17th for 1st would be my guess. Gets us Ekblad and clears a ton of salary.

Panthers would get a lot better very quickly.

I can't believe how much some of you are willing to give up for the 1st... not a chance in hell I would do almost any of them. This isn't the type of draft to give up that much for.

Laughton+Couterier+17 for the 1st. I think that might give them something to sleep on. I'd pick one of the Sam's with the top pick not Ekbald.

There is no way for me to express how bad of an idea this is without getting banned from the site.

Tallon has said he doesn't want to fall out of the top 8-10 I thought? Why would he fall back to 17? I don't think we have a chance to get #1 unless we trade up before calling Florida.

That's not going to get it done, there's already been rumored offers out there that make more sense for Florida to do on top of better value.

If you want that pick you're parting with one of Voracek, Couturier, or Simmonds most likely.

Correct, I'm 99% positive the Flyers won't be picking #1 tomorrow & I am very content with that.

I would be content with it as well. Move up hopefully and get a pretty good prospect in Ehlers or Nylander and I would be very satisfied. Stay where we are and draft Milano, Tuch, Sanheim and I will be happy as well.

I think Couterier is going to be moved. We need better overall team speed, if we can package him to move up to get a fast winger who can finish we should make the move.

So you want to trade a young center, who just finished 9th in Selke voting, one of the best PKers in the league, will almost certainly continue to improve offensively, and is the 2nd most important player on the team for a fast winger?

What a horrible idea.

I'd LOVE it we could somehow move up to get dal Colle. Idk what it would take though

I said the same thing a while back. I think he goes no later than 6 and possibly as early as 2. Even at 6 you're giving till it hurts.

I don't think you realize what you are saying, sir. Please aquire better knowledge of hockey. I'm putting this as nicely as possible.

Thats too much talent to give up for #1 overall, let some other team get robbed by Florida.

I was hoping Eckblad dropped to 3rd and maybe we could make a deal with Oilers centered around Coburn.
Its not like we will win the cup this year anyway, with the slow defense we have.
Need to focus on rebuilding this defense at some point, why not now?

That's not happening neither considering Edmonton's one of the teams trying to trade up to #1 to select Ekblad.

I was just speculating if the Sams went 1+2 and Eckblad was still available at 3,
maybe the Oilers would prefer a package of Coburn+.

You maybe right Eckblad could be gone before 3 then the whole Coburn swap idea is moot.

Eckblad is the only player in top 5 that would be worth trading up for in my opinion.

It's not happening. Edmonton has Ekblad #1 on their board. If he falls to #3 they're taking him not trading the pick considering they are currently trying to trade with Florida to move up to #1 to ensure they get Ekblad.

Not to mention his bargain $1.75m cap hit is crucial right now.

Woah...

They don't have Fiala going in the first round and they have Fabbri going at 27. I don't think that will happen.

I can see it. TSN I think interviewed Dale Tallon and he said that you're going to see a lot of picks that you didn't see coming in the first round. He also said that he was about "62.5%" keeping the top pick...has three solid offers, one from Vancouver. No chance the Flyers get #1 (he didn't say that, I am saying that). I'd be more interested in trading into the top ten somewhere to get Dal Colle. Price tag won't be as high and might not be too crazy depending on how far he falls. I think if it gets to 7 and he's still there, the Flyers could trade up and nab him. But that is a big if for whether or not he even makes it out of the top five. But guys fall every year.

I would love to trade up and grab Dal Colle. I might get some flack for saying this, but he reminds me so much of Bergeron when he first broke into the league (but on the wing obviously). He's got some great hands, but he's not afraid to play that power game as well because he's got great such a great center of balance and strength. Now obviously he's not the same two way player as Bergeron, but Bergeron wasn't a great defensive player when he first broke in either.

The rumors will be running wild today leading up to the first pick and well into the first round. I want to see what Hexy has up his sleeves because he clearly needs to clear cap space and add speed to this lineup. It has his hands full with contract like Vinny and Grossmann but I still think we see more that that. Vinny and Grossmann are the easy targets to say are going to be moved but I think he might be up to something.

My list of untouchables are

Giroux
Couts
Voracek
Simmonds
Schenn

The rest of the roster I would listen to offers on. Yes, even Read and Coburn. I want to see hexy retool the defense and build the forwards through draft or trades that he thinks will work with our team. Been waiting for this night for a while now, can't wait to get it going!

Coburn might be moved. I know people here don't want that to happen but I think Hexy is willing to take next season for our prospects to continue to mature and for us to build. We add another 1st rounder+prospect for him and then we will start to have a pretty stacked farm system for the first time ever in my life lol.

Morin, Ghost, Hagg, Laughton, Leier, Cousins, 17th, 48th, (hypothetically another 1st rounder) we will be making big strides.

While I am not opposed to moving Coburn, I wouldn't do it for picks or prospects. I would do it for a young NHL forward or defenseman with room to grow, but I wouldn't trade Coburn for a first and a question mark (or even a couple picks and a couple prospects). Jordan Eberle on the other hand....(though that ship likely sailed now that they got Nikitin).
