I'd put money on Ho-Sang not even being on the Flyers draft board.

I'm still on the Milano/Fiala bandwagon.

Oh, Flight Plan, where art thou? This would be a fun episode, getting the same detailed discussions they presented around last year's draft.

But we all know the Flyers FO learned their lesson about giving a peek behind the velvet curtain.

Hextall said it is critical those drafted players have good character. He pointed to the reigning Conn Smythe Trophy winner as an example.

"You have to look for players having that commitment to becoming a player," Hextall said. "You have to seek players willing to put in the time and effort and doing what it takes to be an NHL player. Look at Justin Williams, a good example. He's still ticking; there's a kid who always wanted to play the game, always put the time in and dedication. That's the type of character we're looking for, a player willing to put in the time and effort. Guys who really yearn to play night in and night out.

"There are a lot of players in the American Hockey League that don't make the NHL because of their character."

I have 5 guys that I really like at 17, 4 forwards, 1 D-man:

1) Barbeshev
2) Tuch
3) Milano
4) Honka
5) Kempe

I think the only guy that might not be there at 17 is Tuch because his size/speed. If Richie goes early people will look to Tuch to be that power forward.

Honestly, I think Barbashev will be good, but he's redundant for what we have. Tuch, while big and speedy, is not as skilled or the goal scorer we need with Giroux. This is why I still believe Milano is the one we should really gun for. Decent size, a really long wingspan for his size, great hand, speedy, agitator in a way and knows how to finish well and often.

tuch is big strong more of a goal scorer than you think but is not a speedster.

Why is everyone thinking we'll get a winger for Giroux?

With that kind of a pick you'll get a third or second liner most likely, not a first liner. I think Tuch would look good with Couturier.

For what Milano has, why can't he be a 1st line winger? He's not going to immediately be there, but he has a ceiling to be one. Giroux was 22nd overall and is now our best player. Give him time in college and I'm sure he'll turn out better than we think.

First liners have never been picked at 17th overall or lower?

I think Barbeshev is more skilled than Milano. They are both very good passers but not finishers.

We should just move up into the top 5 picks so we get a surething since this team is along way off of winning anything but have some good pieces.

You might be the only one in the draft that thinks that. Milano is considered top 5 in skills. I like Barb but his play isnt necessarily known for his pure skills.

This draft has Alex Tuch written all over it.

I used to like Tuch alot but am really scared that Milano and Eichel were the main reasons he succeeded. They had like 30 more points than he did (someone correct me if I am wrong. Pretty sure thats what I read). Recently people have seemed to sour on him abit more. I honestly dont know how he would play without them.

But you are right. Its a typical Flyers pick.
