So am I taking crazy pills or do they have the exact same record as last year after 20 games?

Let's play a game, which season is which?

What are we freaking out about again?
Top is current season only because of the higher GAA

Didn’t see those being the lines but at least there’s been a shakeup

I know Verhaeghe kinda sucks eyetest wise atm. But way too early to say whether singing Verhaeghe longterm wasn't right.

Or at the very least, It's hard to justify signing Bennett over Swaggy longterm imo.

Verhaeghe has outproduced Bennett by at least 30 points the last 2 seasons.

But even if you dont think the production Verhaeghe provides is more valuable than what Bennett brings.

consider that Bennett missed more games last season than Verhaeghe has in the last 3. Verhaeghe has missed 11 games in the last 3 years. Bennett has missed 43. And we all know the Bennett type players don't tend to age as well either.

Maybe he will be an exception, but I think Zito made the right decision with the information available to him.

His effort level looks like I've cashed in, f*** it

I mean yeah, fair enough.

I do think Verhaeghe is the better investment long-term from a purely hockey standpoint but that's not taking into account mindset/personality. He wouldn't be the first player to "settle" after getting their cash.

It's pretty early in the season though, realistically it's hard to give the same level of 100% effort in an 82 game season, much less coming off a cup win. Im not worried just yet.

Also, I do think Verhaeghe's crap play is being overstated a bit.. he's getting chances, he's just very snakebitten atm.

He leads this team in SOG, a 14 shot gap over Reinhart the next highest. But he's shooting at 5.6% and 6th in team scoring..
