I mean yeah, fair enough.
I do think Verhaeghe is the better investment long-term from a purely hockey standpoint but that's not taking into account mindset/personality. He wouldn't be the first player to "settle" after getting their cash.
It's pretty early in the season though, realistically it's hard to give the same level of 100% effort in an 82 game season, much less coming off a cup win. Im not worried just yet.
Also, I do think Verhaeghe's crap play is being overstated a bit.. he's getting chances, he's just very snakebitten atm.
He leads this team in SOG, a 14 shot gap over Reinhart the next highest. But he's shooting at 5.6% and 6th in team scoring..
