Whichever one gets Panarin in more trouble. So are these rape or assault accusations? I read it as assault but in another thread read that it was rape.

Panarin refused to hand over Putin’s first of 9 goal pucks from that memorable 9 goal game a few years agoIm sure that soon some amateur blogger will link Panarin to some unsolved serial killer/rapist/cannibal crimes in Latvia/Russia soon.
So the answer to your question is yes.
As a Russian, I think it’s a bit ridiculous to suggest this is politically charged. At least until some new circumstances are revealed.
I follow the NHL, and while not the Rangers or Panarin personally, I wasn’t even aware Panarin was critical of Putin. I don’t think most people are.
Had it been a targeted piece, you’d think they had chosen someone other than Nazarov who’s been out of work for at least couple of years now and isn’t respected on any level.
I also wouldn’t hold anything against Panarin until any evidence is presented. I don’t think a boy who made it from the outskirts of the Chelyabinsk region would risk everything by doing such a thing.
Latvian KHL reporter
Seems more likely, as others have suggested, to be politically motivated by the former coach and not Putin. In fact I can see Putin rolling his eyes at Nazarov and saying 'this is the best you can do?' lolAs a Russian, I think it’s a bit ridiculous to suggest this is politically charged. At least until some new circumstances are revealed.

Physical assault not rape
Thats the thing, we don't know if he was jailed or not. Btw, I think this whole thing is bullshit anyway. How did he get punished? He/they paid the girl off not to talk? Again, I'm not saying any of these accusations are true. But you can't have been punished if you never faced the music.
Im mainly concerned that he felt he had to take a leave of absence. I hope he will be airtightThankfully it just looks like one nutjob, then.
That is good news for Panarin and his family, and good news for the team.
Also, we managed to not get the thread locked! We done did a good, guys!
The Rangers, save for their lottery luck the past two drafts, have been on a really bad run in the past year.
They're rolling last February and March, then COVID hits. Just before that, the car accident with Shesterkin and Buchnevich.
Kakko and Lafreniere slow out of the gate.
Zibanejad getting COVID and stumbling out of the gate.
DeAngelo gate.
Trouba and Chytil injuries.
Now this.
Whatever is going on, I hope that the Panarin family stay safe and are able to get out of Russia.
Certainly hope not. Somehow i don’t see a lab tech distracted by the HR fella pounding on the lab window screaming “is that an Infrared spectrometer?”
If we thought American Buch was good just wait for American PanarinSo if Russia denounces him and he gets citizenship in the US, does that mean he will play for the US at the next Olympics? Too soon?
He can’t even land a coaching job in the VHL, let alone the KHL. At this point he’d have to carry out political assassinations for Putin to get a sniff of the national team.In this case, Nazarov is trying to gain support from Putin and his supporters for a prominent position, especially with the Olympics coming up.
It's an obvious smear campaign against Panarin by Dirty Naz. Or if it's true Panarin is done in NHL just like Voynov. But I don't believe it. But people here seriously worrying about his family in Russia or that he would be thrown in jail or killed if he went to Russia are just beyond ridiculous. Another proof that American propaganda is just as bad as Russian one.
Anyway, I hope Artemi will deal with this circus as fast as possible, NYR offense is practically non-existent without him.
No, he is not very bright. I speak Russian fluently, and I watched multiple interviews of Panarin. It's not a knock on him. Really. He grew up in a village and was raised by his grandpa, but nevertheless, he has already achieved more than 99% of HFBoards posters thanks to his athletic prowess. Kudos to him.Even if "hes not very bright" I don't think hes stupid enough to make himself a large target by actively going against the Russian govt if he has a serious history of crime.
Also while this comparison of Putin and Navalny seems to be a false equivalence, even if it was why would he make himself a large target of the current regime who has a long history of silencing opponents.
