Panthers should let the Sabres wear these.

There's no doubt Buffalo faces challenges as a market but being this whiny as a GM should be disqualifying.

Can you imagine Detroit/Minnesota/Chicago/Winnipeg just giving up because they can't grow tropical plants?

Funny how Winnipeg, Edmonton, Toronto, Minnesota, etc. also don't have palm trees, yet they have winning clubs.

If management says something this stupid, it really should not double-down on the stupid.

If the Pegulas (or whatever they're called) are not going to step down, then management needs to try some huge, desperation move. They should trade, like, 8 players at once. Just roll the dice. Can't be any worse.

So inflate it inside the stadium after entering?

This idea was brought to you by the genius folks at NASA's JPL.

This sucks. The best way to respond to misery is humour, why take that away from the fans?

I suppose it could be an insult to the players, but still, lame.

The only insult to the players was from the team’s GM in that press conference. “I can’t sign any good players because of taxes and palm trees.” What a vote of confidence in guys like Dahlin and Thompson, who signed long-term deals here.

Absurd. Find a way to keep doing it.

Leafs fans smuggled waffles in after they were banned in Toronto, and it eventually lead to change. Keep at it Buffalo fans, I'm rooting for you.
Fans at the games are usually so bad, it was amazing how waffles kept getting thrown in the ice. Those fans were epic. Sabres fans need to keep those palm trees coming!

also, this

and it reminds me of this quote for some reason

When I started the Kings, I was told there were a quarter-million ex-Canadians in L.A. Now I know why they left Canada. They hate hockey.”

As odd as it is, Adams is wrong. I've been to the botanical gardens in Buffalo in late October. They had a couple palms. Of course, now I do realize that was at least a decade ago.

To say nothing of the 19 players they signed to contracts since July, including 5 UFAs.

Zucker’s been one of their best players. I’m sure he loves to hear that he isn’t a “good” player, given that he signed in Buffalo.
It’s astoundingly tone deaf for several reasons.

I just can’t believe his comments didn’t turn the team around and instead they just kept losing. Very baffling why this didn’t improve team morale or fan morale.
