Kings are playing well, getting the goaltending, have easily taken care of the Oilers twice down the stretch. Everything is pointing to them finally getting it done, which is exactly why I think they won’t. Mcdavid and Draisaitl take their final form and are the difference in the Oilers just getting past the Kings in 7.

One part of my brain is telling me if the Kings got decent goaltending the last 2 series we might have won 1 especially because we were about to go up 3-1 in the series 2 years ago winning the game 4-2 at that time until Korpisalo shat the bed but another part of my brain is saying the Kings dont have an answer for Mcdavid / Draisaitl and Mackinnon / Makar. These types of players always give us trouble . I think it depends on how banged up the Oilers truly are come round 1 . Losing Ekholm is huge though so im optimistic but not cocky

I could see it from Drew out there. Kopitar masks it a bit better but he's a lot slower now.

I mean that's pretty literal for Drew, that ankle smash was gnarly, and they said he wouldn't even be close to 100% for the rest of the year, he's just managing it as best he can but you can see he's basically immobile

But even an amputee Doughty with one arm behind his back completely hammered on eggnog is a major upgrade on Burroughs

Lol i voted for Kings in 6 but i know better than to count Mcdavid and Draisaitl out as they are more than enough just themselves to take us out but of there is any year i am optimistic its this year but not enough to let me get cocky or ahead of myself .

Looking forward to the series to see how we play this time around because i truly believe we got better and the Oilers got worse than last year . Losing Holloway , Mcleod , Foegele and Broberg is going to hurt them because they had their young legs and speed you need in the playoffs and timely secondary goals that make all the difference in the postseason but their biggest loss will be Ekholm their true number 1 dman and Drai and Mcdavid not being 100% . Dayum if not this year then it’ll be never

Losing Ekholm is the back breaker. He's the glue. Man, EDM is so depleted it's not even funny. Whatever they did to tick off the hockey Gods they are feeling the full wraith at this point. They aren't advancing this year. Too many injuries. Kings likely in 4 or 5.

I don't like EDM's depth this year and they're hurt at the worst possible time. Goaltending also isn't that good. They've been shutout twice by LA recently with McDavid and Draisaitl not in the line-up.

Unless those two absolutely carry them (McDavid may have to play like he did in the 2022 playoffs), I don't see EDM winning.
