McDavid is looking better than anytime he has this season. Probably Draisaitl best even strength year of his career. Bad news for the Kings.

If Edmontons PP gets hot and if Edmontons goaltending holds up it’s going to be rough for LA.

Losing Ekholm is a big loss for the Oilers. I suspect everyone will be healthy with Frederic being a question mark.

I don’t how far the Oilers will go but I expect Edmonton to still win this series.

Even with injuries the total lack of chemistry is the other big issue. Last season, the Oilers were dominate advanced-stats wise the entire the season. I’d say that happened 10-20 games this season. Most games they play like crap with McDrai saving their butt. Hyman and Nuge need to stop playing like ghosts.
I mean, the Oilers were 3rd in CF%, 3rd in FF%, 3rd in xGF%, and 1st in HDCF%. Their problem is that they were 29th in PDO after being middle of the road the year before. Losing Ekholm really hurts but it should be a good sign for them that they had so many injuries through the year and their numbers still look so good.

And last year they were better offensively and more importantly... DEFENSIVELY. They had a 16 game winning streak in 23-24 that probably could have gone 20+

Not surprised they made it deep into the playoffs. But this year? My faith is low. Stringing together 3-4 wins has been a struggle.

I mean he's not wrong at all

Behind Kuemper there's the worst version of David Rittich and then an assortment of injured prospects/journeymen in Copley Portillo Ingham

Unless they go full nuclear and just say 'f*** it, let's roll, Carter George'

Kuemper really is the key to the whole thing, which shows how fragile the franchise is. You'd like to think there are ZERO excuses this year with relative health vs. a banged up at best oilers squad, home ice and the best home ice team int he league, several years to get it right and more, but I mean after getting worse year over year and run out of the building last year Blake and Luc were able to say literally direct quote 'we were right there' and run it back so I think the Oilers could mercy rule us 4 games in a row at this point and they'd probably get extended
I agree in Kuemper. I wanted him for the Oilers in a bad way when he was available

People are really sleeping on Oilers this year.....they're going to plow through LA like they always do, and are the team to beat in the West this year.
Goaltending has to be the best its ever been to have a chance past the second round so oil fans arnt holding are breath on that. But this is the first season on the last few where we arnt close to being faveorotes so maybe that works in are favor 🤔

Oilers only go as far as goaltending takes them.

This actually might be the year for the Kings vs the Oilers. The Oilers are banged up and the Kings might be playing their best hockey at the right time.

Here come the excuses

You obviously don't know the difference between an excuse and a fact

Kuemper >>> Rittich

If Kuemper exits due to an accidental injury, it will be a short series, explain how it wouldn't???

You really think Rittich is elite?? LOL

Oilers without Ekholm and likely Hyman too. Drai likely running at 30%.

Bouchard turns into a muffin without his buddy Ekholm holding him together.

Nurse-Bouchard top pairing playing 28 minutes a night will be fun to watch.

Also Foegele hates the Oilers, I bet he will be pumped for this.

Where do you get your information from in regards to Drai's health status?

Kings’ year to finally get past McDavid.

Based on what? Traditionally, teams show signs of improvement against a playoff rival each time they meet. The Kings have packed it in earlier each time.

Doesn’t mean they actually will get swept this time, but it’s pure emotion to pick them to overcome the Oilers at this point.

Are you pretending that McDavid isn’t the major driving force of the Oilers? I’ve seen them both plenty of times to know who does all the heavy lifting.

Lol. Whenever McDavid is injured... Drai steps up. You haven't been watching at all. Drai is Hart-worthy this season. McDavid has been meh for most of the year except recently. His points totals reflect that.

Lol well do you think it should be questioned IF Los angles goes from one of the most penalized teams during the regular season to the least penalized in the playoffs?

Be interesting take would it not 🤷‍♂️
The Kings haven't finished in the top 10 in penalties taken in the regular season in the last 4 years (only 1 year were they in the top half) and they were the most penalized team in the playoffs last year...? This is the first year in 4 years that the Oilers have taken fewer penalties in the regular season than the Kings.

Edmonton goaltending just have to be ok, it's our chances to get ok goaltending that worries me.

We went to game 7 on the back of historicaly poor goaltending.

Mcdavid has been meh for the 3rd-5th greatest player ever

On the season as a wholes hes #2 in ppg behind Kucherov and was #4 before the last 3 games where hes been unstoppable

Draisailt was having a hart worthy year but Mcdavid wasnt that far off.

Mcdavid in the playoffs should be betting favorite to win the conn smythe if Oilers win the cup.
