There could be fine language as to the Hart situation and how it differs from other goalie absences, but if an emergency recall was used to promote Petersen, there are stipulations involved which I believe is limited to two emergencies per year plus a maximum of 48 hours at the NHL level. By placing Tippett on IR, neither of those situations is raised.

Well, taking Petersen's and Walker's contracts were why he got such ad haul of picks - and somehow he sensed he would need a veteran backup. I'm all for riding Pedersen to a top 8 pick!
