Can anyone confirm he played at all in the right side at Michigan?
Or if he’s spoken about playing on his off-hand?
Kevyns should be ringing up 'Lumbus and inquiring. He didn't at Michigan. His best partner his second year there was Blankenburg who did the scrappy stuff around the net that OP doesn't do.
He's now eligible to play for the Czech national team
Dahlin and Samuelsson were as well this year
More than anything I think Adams wants the long term cap certainty. If you have the exact # that your top 2 C and top 3 D all make for the next 7 seasons…you don’t have to make choices around one of the premium positions on the team needing a big increase in a couple years.
And…if you’re already paying Power a nice big number for 7 years or so…his next contract on your books is only the difference between his new number and his current one. Other teams have to make room for the whole new big number.
Just keep selling expansion slots.Or you have to choose between Dalin or Power after 7 years or so as you mention. Unless the cap has gone up that much and I just don't see the NHL being able to increase revenue much beyond where they're at honestly. This ain't the NFL or NBA.
I’m not going to explain math to you.Or you have to choose between Dalin or Power after 7 years or so as you mention. Unless the cap has gone up that much and I just don't see the NHL being able to increase revenue much beyond where they're at honestly. This ain't the NFL or NBA.
Wrong on both accountsIt's not even worth the mental energy to wonder IF you can keep both if they both sign long term deals.
#1. They BOTH have to sign long term deals. While Dahlin is likely going to, we have no idea about Power. Given the cap is going to jump to 90M in a few years, probably smart for Power to wait until the cap goes up to sign long term.
#2. It's going to be near impossible to see where we are as a team in 2 years, let alone 7.
Wrong on both accounts
I’m not going to explain math to you.
If you think they’re going to have to jettison one of Dahlin or Power over an additional combined few million dollars I’ll let you worry about that for the next eight to nine years.
Give Power a 3 yr bridge and then Skinners contract is done it the same time.Ok, if that's your polite tactic I want to ask you, did all the forwards that are also going to get significant raises in my opinion, all flame out in your opinion?
Your math doesn't seem to factor anything other than these two players. So everything is fine I guess. And no, I'll not be worrying about the years going forward. It's not my money I don't give a shit.
You're not going to be able to keep all the talent we have today, eight years from now.
If you sign Power to a low bridge deal like we did with Dahlin, I think we have a problem. But that is probably what should happen. But if that happens and all our forward talent pans out and you gotta pay them, you have to start losing talent like Tampa. You can't pay everyone when you get that deep. It's a nice problem to have, and really, it's simple math that even you should be able to grasp. I hope you can grasp that concept.
Sign both now before the cap increases and Power doesn’t have a 70 pt season under his belt. Buyout skinner (2m something yearly hit iirc) if we run into issues down the line imo is the way to go. Would hate to lose Skinny but he’s 31 today and eventually he’ll get pushed out with our litany of forwards.Give Power a 3 yr bridge and then Skinners contract is done it the same time.
I agree with him.Thank you for your detailed and well thought out response.
