No surprise here:
I think this is the right decision, we don't need to rush to develop him.
No surprise here:
He would need to do four years. So how many years does he need to play at UM to become a UFA?
If Michigan makes it to the Frozen Four, the Sabres have 11 games after it is scheduled to take place. Assume it takes a few days to get him into the lineup, he’d still get a solid 9 or 10 game taste.Excellent. Sign him when UM's season is over and get him a taste of pro hockey.

Not at his age: can’t slide if signed in year he turns 20…it is a weird ruleIf he plays 9 or less, does his contract slide? I'd also want him to play for the Amerks if they make the playoffs.

I shall not stand by and allow you to besmirch the institution that produced the greatest mathematician of our generation!he’d need to put off signing his first real (post elc) contract until he was 25 risking injury all the way. Or he could burn the first year by signing at the end of the season and get it at 21.
I know he’s not going to Harvard but…
Are you nervous now, because he's starting his 2nd year with Big Blue?If he opts to go back for year 2, I start to get nervous.

edit: And for all we know, the decision to return was mutual.
Michigan could be good next year. New fab 5? 5 1st round picks.
Such overblown teeth-gnashing from TSN about the Sabres... as usual.
No issue with Power going back to Big Blue. I for one am going to be finding a way to watch as many of their games as possible which is the first time in a long time I've wanted to tune in to a particular NA hockey team.
I don't think I've ever really watched college hockey, however I am going to try and watch every game too.
Sabres' 1OA pick - Check
Starting goaltender a Sabres prospect - Check
Team stacked overall - Check
Between that and Dahlin, Cozens, Mitts, and even Olofsson on the Sabres, I think there should be plenty of things of interest to pay attention to from a development standpoint while we go on our way to adding another top player to our pipeline of youth.
Roch warrants some decent interest as well.
