It appears that Alexander Ovechkin won't participate to the second stage of the Eurotour that begins in few hours in Finland. He has been hurted yesterday during a game's preparation for the tournament.
IMO, if the injury reveals to not be serious ( it doesn't appear a bad one yet), it won't be a bad thing for him. He will have a rest. The season in RSL is much longer this year than before. Eight players, including Oleg Tverdovski, invited by Tikhonov to be part of the russian team declined his invitation for different reasons.
For those not aware, there is a long tradition in Russia to inlude few breaks during the regular schedule, notably to let National Team participate in the Eurotour. For this stage, there are no regular games played in RSL for 10 days.
