Ovechkin Milestone Thread - Countdown to 894 (892 and counting)

I just saw that the game on Friday where Ovechkin might break the record is going to be shown on none other than NHL Network. So history might happen and more than 3 quarters of the country won't be able to see it unless they pirate the game through alternative means. God the NHL is so dumb. f*** the NHL, f*** thier f***ing network, and f*** Gary Bettmen for not doing anything about this.

What's so special about Friday's game vs. Wednesday's game or Sunday's game, for example?

He does. Wayne 122. OV 72. Gretz's teams managed to make it past the second round more than once.

Sir, nobody is trying to argue Ovechkin is the greatest player of all-time.

Wayne played on an All-Star team in a league that was one-third smaller. Comparing playoff success is a tad unfair even acknowledging that the Capitals came up short a bunch.

Every single person in this thread celebrating Ovechkin's pursuit of this regular-season goals record is aware that 99 is the GOAT.

Just got funsies... For years, people claimed a belief that Ovie was actually several years older than he was listed/claimed to be.

Imagine if he was scoring at these rates at 41+ 😁.

Well, those rumors are not too far-fetched. Can't believe how much grey hair he has for someone who isn't 40 yet. My wife & I are each closing in on 50 and the both of us put together wouldn't even be able to fill 1/4 of the white hairs he has.

It can happen. A friend in school had grey hairs from age 18 and apparently his uncle was full grey at 25.

Correct. Nobody is arguing. Either way.
