From an ESPN/Media stand point, they stand to do better by starting when he's 10 away. And ramp up coverage and hype with every goal

He's been screwed out of 155 games between lockouts and the partial covid seasons. That'd be roughly 100 goals over those games, he should be flirting with 1000 goals for his career right now

he would have 441/442, which would be around 71st all time, and by all means

What he had done in his career would theoretically be worth 1,139 goals in the 80s and 90s. A 245 goal lead on the actual 894 Gretzky record we see today. He’d also have the all time record for goals per game while playing 20 seasons unlike Bossy’s 10. You can argue Gretzky, Hull and Lemieux for peak season goal scoring but there is nobody better than Alexander Ovechkin at goal scoring. He’s just the best we will ever see.

I could do assists and total points as well but for seasons of above 82 games I’ll stop them at 80 as from 1980-1992 it was an 80 game season.
