I live on the North Side and want to play some pond hockey. Does anyone know of any rinks available yet?

I gave all my equipment away to a family member, so I can't play rec hockey. And with pond hockey all you need is skates, a stick and a puck.

I checked out the Lorelei-Beaumaris community Rink today but it was locked and didn't have ice.

Hopefully this year the weather is better for the upkeep of outdoor rinks. Last year's freeze-melt cycle was freaking awful. My neighbourhood rink's ice was absolute **** last year unfortunately and I didn't really get the chance to go to it as it was either slush/extremely rough, or covered in a foot of snow...

Are the ODR's in Edmonton open already?

I'm itching to go out and play some hockey already. Any ideas if the ODR's are open?

I haven't seen any yet, they're usually not ready until the 1st or 2nd week of December but the weather has been pretty cooperative so they might start popping up a bit earlier.

Im also on the Northside. If you want to play you play at Delton. 88st 123ave. Best ice for an outdoor rink in the city.
usually the first fewweeks 9f the year its PACKED. but by late december until march its fairly empty

Grandview Outdoor Rink is open: 12305 63 Ave NW (behind the Auto Repair and Medical Offices)

That was fast!! Ice might be a little rough as it is early but they are up and running.

I'm pretty sure you can't not live within walking distance of the ODR. Unless your in one of those weird new suburbs.

Wow - that is early.

I'm just waiting for my local ODR (Twin Brooks) to open, and typically that won't happen till close to Christmas.

I think we all need some time away from the Oilers and to just focus on the game in its purest form. I say we all go to Hans, get our skates sharpened, and go for a skate a la Gordon Bombay when he lost his passion for the game.
