I watched the game, he looked really good. He was constantly generating offence and creating chances for the Flyers.
A rookie that’s producing and looks dominant right off the gate. We could have used one of those.

Age doesn’t play hockey. Slafkovsky is twice his size.
Since you’re bad at stats, you should note Michkov is both out-producing and outpacing Slafkovsky this year too.

I gotta watch more Michkov. At the sens game where he scored the OT winner he wasn't noticeable at all in the other 60 minutes of the game.

I’m saying the excuses doled out for Slafkovsky in his rookie season apply to Michkov too. New ice dimensions, new language, new culture.
Between Slaf and Michkov who do you think had a better rookie season (so far)?
No one made any excuses, you just made a bad comparison and got upset at a fact check.
Michkov is obviously having a much better rookie season.
So is Hutson.
Both considerably older than Slaf during his rookie year
Facts shouldn't be that intimidating to work with.

Most KHL rinks are now NHL standard. The transition started in 2019 and only a few out of standard rinks remain. Michkov isn't adapting to 'new ice dimensions'.

Michkov was always a better prospect than Slafkovsky at every age they've been alive not sure why anybody would be suprised that he's better than Slaf going forward in their careers. They are different players though so I'm not sure I like the comparison , I also take Michkov over Nemec or Cooley or Wright so there's that

It’s not about the direct comparison — but rather how well Michkov hit the ground (ice) running.
Slaf played against adults in Finland, did well in the Olys and held his own against men in the Worlds and yet he struggled big time in the NHL as a rookie. So given all the VALID excuses put forth to contextual Slafkovsky’s rookie season, I find it remarkable how well Michkov has managed to keep up. He might win the Calder.
In fact, he’s out producing Slafkovsky this season.
Pretty impressive.

Yeah but anybody who followed Michkov since he's 16 wouldn't be surprised at what we see now , hence the insanity on here when we passed on him.
I never bought the Slaf *excuses* he is what he is and his hardships in his first season came from himself. He looked great at the end of last year and is a big boy I'm not too worried about him yet

Over half his games were played in a not-NHL sized rink.
He adapted remarkably well to NHL sized rinks. It’s noteworthy because we had a European player who had this experience and one of the factors brought up to contextualize his performance was adapting to the size of the rink.
What’s the flimsy argument?
I choose to be sanguine about the draft. Lots more to happen.
I can’t accept the Habs made such a catastrophic mistake. It’ll basically mean we’re in the wrong hands. I can’t swallow that right now. So I won’t.
