they have had steady attendance since 05 lockout during their BRIEF window to win the cup while on top of the northeast. that ship has snailed.

in 03 they brought in just less than 14,000 when they were the ass end of the division standings but a better question is why do people even live there.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

It is his job to protect the players safety and health in that situation. Not breaking up the fight because he is scared he could get hit is a total bull **** excuse.

So it's his job to jeopardize his safety for the safety of someone else? Not buying that. And again, he is more focused on preventing a 20 vs 20 brawl as well. If he had a second referee's assistance, it would have been broken up. If he restrains Emery, what's stopping Holtby from getting up and clocking him? That's how crap escalates.

Blaming the ref for Emery's actions is completely misdirected.

I am not blaming the ref for Emery's actions, i am blaming him for doing nothing about either preventing the fight by getting between Emery and Holtby or actually breaking up the fight since Holtby didn't defend himself. And if he is not willing to take the risk of getting hit by a punch, he is doing the wrong job.

Holtby wasn't willing either and had to take a lot of punches including numberous punches to the back to the head because the ref did nothing about it.

The ref simply failed at his job which is protecting the players safety. That is like a cop not stopping a crime because it might be dangerous for him.
