He's been outmuscled once for a goal and he's not going to continually win battles. He's found ways to be effective all year. I don't think it's a coincidence that the worst game we've seen him play is on his off wing. Even if he will lose a battle or position from time to time.
Like I said, it doesn’t matter which side he is playing, a Dman cannot be outmuscled like that and it happened twice.
Mistakes happen in games but I don’t think those are mistakes but just that he is not strong enough.

well I'd wanna get that confirmed from him at least. I'd inquire if I was Dubas. I think Toronto is a pretty attractive destination.

But if not him then idk, Varlomov I guess? Need someone.
If they go out first round again hopefully it will be the new GM talking to him

people blaming the goalie tonight just didnt watch the game ...... full stop

everyone except the third line played line total garbage.

honestly the D pairings today caused so much confusions and bad passes all f***en night.. everytime the pinned themselves in the dzone.

It's been horrible everything tonight. I guess the one thing is we sort of expect bad goaltending.

I know Soup hasn't played well but at least he knows where his net is , Mzraek is either sliding out of his net or not properly squaring up to the shooter .

I’m not sure why they called him up so quickly but it seems like beyond effort level there’s a lot he has to figure out at the NHL. All he does is chase the play and when he gets the puck he has nowhere to go.
He is not a 4th liner. He would show better with some skill beside him. We know he's not gonna get 1st or 2nd line minutes though.

When has he ever had the puck? Simmonds and Spezza can't even make a pass right now.

Robertson seems to focus too much on hounding the puck carrier when he’s in a defensive situation and is never really in open space for a pass. I don’t know if he’s ready to be up but he’s got somethings to work on re: spacing.

Colorado , Florida , Tampa , Carolina don’t have these games. Toronto seems to always have a bunch of these disaster, headline making games
Ummmm check my last post, Florida lost 6-2 to these sabres not long ago and lost to Columbus last week right after we did. Every team has stinkers
Tampa lost 5-1 to the ducks recently and two months ago, got shut out by the Sens & Sabres earlier on in the year.
Carolina lost to detroit last night, got beat by the Sens a few weeks ago, got a 7 spot put up on them vs Jersey and got shut out 6-0 by Columbus in mid January. They’ve also lost to the kraken, flyer and Sens again.
The Avs have been beat by Columbus twice, the Sens, Arizona and Dallas like three times who are middling at best.
I get it, it sucks living through in the moment and sucks to watch but bad teams beat good teams often enough in hockey you can’t sweat it

He has let in 4 goals or more in his last 5 games full stop

thats exactly the point ......
even vaselevski would have let in 5 goals playing behind the leafs today ..., but becasuse MRAS has been playing bad thats the go to person to blame.

thanks for proving it :)

If you're expecting him to win battles consistently, you'll be disappointed nightly. If you're expecting a smart D, to make good outlets, escape the zone quickly and be a good contributor overall, you won't be disappointed most nights. Pretty simple.

It hasn't been a good night for him, but he's had a good year and has been one of our better D all season.

we continue to have no response to teams that park all their bodies in the slot. No traffic, no rebounds, no lateral puck movement or dangerous shots from the point. we want to dick around and skate in circles on the perimeter and if the other team defends it appropriately we have no response. our approach is so 1 dimensional. either our stars do something incredible and we score or we get totally shut down. we don't generate offence as a unit. this is losing hockey in the playoffs.

That's the biggest issue, game after game no matter what goalie is playing we have to score 4 or 5 goals to win the game, it's not sustainable, in Detroit we had to score 8 goals to win the game.

Toronto is playing like dogshit tonight, everyone can see that, but at what point can your goalie bail you out for bad games, doesn't seem like they have gotten that once this season.
