A win tonight and we jump over Florida and will be tied with Tampa for 1st in the division....i get that's not really important, but it's funny that they are in that position while the main pages on this site are talking about the Leafs being a trainwreck....

I think it's huge because it pits Florida VS Tampa against each other and pits Toronto VS, probably Boston and there is nothing I want more than to slay that dragon

Liljegren will be fine. He's getting better but that doesn't mean he doesn't have holes in his game, as you would expect for someone so young. However, at this point, he is not a top 4 on a contending team. He does have poor gap control off the rush, has difficulty with positioning in front of the goal, and prone to flubbing the puck too many times for my liking. However, he has improved his board work and controlling defenders. His passing is elite. If he works at the parts of the game he has trouble with, he will be a top 4 next season.
I wouldn't say he has poor gap control. The Raymond goal he did. The rest I agree

I disagree, while acknowledging he certainly did back up far too much that last game when ??? scored. I've seen numerous times when he's challenged at the blue line, or directed play to the boards. A break from the game, fine, but I'd send him back in because I find his game is improving weekly. And yes, I'm a fan of TL.

he does it 5 to 10 times a game where he should be "ON" the attacker and hes holding back.. as if hes playing zone defense all the time instead of man to man. hes good along the boards but he can really improve in open ice. a prime example is against detroit the last raymond goal .... Raymond gets the puck before center ice ........ its clearly TL's guy and raymond has no passing options ... but TL backs up all the way to the dots for Raymond to get a shot. ....

im not a TL hater or anything , just pointing out one of his deficiencies. We have 7 capable Dmen at the moment and i would definitly play TL over dermott, but if dermott is trade fodder he does need to play some games .......... the other 5 guys are not sitting.

I know Lilligren is out. Any other changes from Monday?

The real question is whether or not Tavares will friggen show up, playing alongside Marner and Bunting tonight? I'd like to see a couple point effort (with a goal from him). Also, any chance we see Robertson get some 2nd line minutes on the left wing, with Kerfoot playing the 2C role tonight?

There's some new info. When did this happen?

I'd agree that he should have tried to hold his own blue line but even though he backed in he did get the attacker to take an extremely savable shot I'd expect any random CHL goalie to stop

If that shot isn't butchered by the goaltender were all saying he should have closed his gap but he made a good defensive play to give up something that innocuous

the result of the shot doesnt matter ... the fact that the player was able to create something from absolutely nothing because TL kept backing up ... it could have gone "bar down" and it wouldn't change much about the play. TL should have snuffed that out WAAAAY earlier.
this is 1 specific example .... but watch him play very closely and it is something he does more than i would like him too. its not like he is slow footed so why give that much space ?
The guy is 6' 200 pounds , hes not small ... he needs to use his body a little better. we all love to complain about engvall not hitting but TL can do a better job being more physical.

Oh mama we are so going to DESTROY this other, poorer club tonight again  AND WE LOVE IT!
They is jelious on our wealth AND stealth. Errrrhthang. The tables have really turned y
'all. We are the ones errrrbody's looking at and being so jelious and still hating. But we, are motivaved by hate. How clishee and yet still so real and deep that is.

I just want Tampa and Florida to play each other round in one because IF we win our first round, I think there is a good chance those teams do some serious damage to each other. It was physical as hell last year, I am betting the winner of that series leaves with one core player on IR and everyone bruised and sore.

Not that the Bruins won't play us hard, but it won't be the same level. And winning against them playing us physically will hopefully give confidence to the team in those situations.

I think Keefe is getting too cute with experimenting with the defence pairings.

Stick with what works and makes sense. There are still valuable points at stake, even if the games are against lesser opponents (which we have a tendency to struggle against).
