Despite scoring a couple of big goals in the 1st round, Stepan has been a bit of a disappointment.
He has not dictated play at all.

In general, suggest the consistency of what I have preached for years:
no sacred cows, everyone is available for the right price if it is a profit.
It's not good for hero attachment and appreciation, but it does keep the club moving forward.
Specifically I'm not immediate concerned w/Cally atm.
I expected more from most.
Again, a HUGE problem is Torts and this effin style that has everybody exhausted come playoffs, even in a short year.
When are you guys going to listen to me about this and a couple of other things!
While honesty must admit atm Miller has been out with healing wrists, generally speaking a high speed line like
Hagelin Kreider Callahan
would be terrific.
CK has amateur experience in the pivot, would it kill to give a few shifts there?

30 shots for cally and hags a piece, as well as 27 for stepan.
And he's 2nd best +/- on the team behind only Hags.
The biggest issue with this team, like it has been all season is that the guy with the best shot is asham, who has 7 shots, and the 2nd best shot is Kreider, who has 4 shots.
Nash shooting like 2% all playoffs is beyond horrible.

I think Del Zotto has been one of the Rangers worst players this post season. I've never felt comfortable with him out on the ice when I've been watching, and he's been on the ice for so many of the goals against. Too bad he couldn't sustain that great stretch he had during the season but even Tortorella didn't think he would.

The players look completely lost. There also seems to be no heart on this team outside of Callahan (of course). Both issues could be blamed on coaching.
Hopefully the coach is let go this off season and a few wasteful players are also shown the door (Richards, Del Zotto, et al) and we can add some more character to this team again.
I also can't wait to finally get real explanations for why players missed the entire playoffs with seemingly playable injuries. I can't stand the secrecy this team has about injuries.

Nash is a no-brainer. One of the reasons the organization traded for him was because we needed more goals in the playoffs; he has scored once.
Stepan has been a disappointment when you consider how well he played in the regular season. He scored some big goals but I haven't seen much of the decisiveness or playmaking that made him so successful this year.
Aside from about 2 games where he played well, Callahan has ranged from mediocre to downright lousy. He was playing around with the puck again last night, just keep it simple.
Team defense has been supbar. I expect the offense to sputter in the playoffs, but I did not anticipate the bad coverage, odd man rushes, poor positional play, etc.

I honestly thought Nash would shine because he is actually playing meaningful games. He has been a major disappointment. If he is injured then it at least explains why he has been ineffective, but if he is not we have a lot of concerns going forward with him.

He really sucked. I think to say he flat out sucked is fair criticism, without going into more detail, as he literally did something stupid every time he was on the ice.
Clear choice for the Derp Smythe award.

Nash better need some kind of major surgery this off season or else Sather made one of his worst moves of his tenure here, bringing this guy in for 4 roster players. Completely gutting a team for a soft, slow, heartless player.

Should trade him for a center when his value is high. There is no doubt in my mind Moore will become a better offensive or two way defenseman than del zotto ever will

So not only was Tim Erixon a roster player, but their 2013 1st rounder is a roster player too?
John Tortorella, yet again, is a playoff no-show.
He has consistently been outcoached in the playoffs since he's been here. We've only won the series we have because Lundqvist went into God mode.
When the opposition keys in on our top players, the coaching staff (and our players) seem totally incapable of adjusting.
Now, our team has seemed to tune out Torts. When he starts saying that his players "suck" on the PP, without being able to teach/coach them to be better, he's lost the team.
He must go.

Didn't show up: Richards, MDZ
Disappointments: Nash, Girardi, Boyle, to a degree Stepan
Showed up: HL, McD, Stralman, Brass, Moore, Cally, Dorsett
The rest were somewhere in between.

Going down the list of scorers
Brass=god
Zucc= 1 goal, 6 assists, 10 games, i'm real happy with that. Though, much of that can be attributed to playing with Brass.
Cally- 2 goals, 3 assists, ton of hits- I expected Cally to be 3rd or 4th in scoring, but with 1 or 2 more goal and another assist or two. Of note, both of his goals were unassisted takeaways. The chances have been there, and he's played well in most of the games. Still not good enough.
Hags- 2 goals, 3 assists= exactly where i'd expect him to be at this point. a 3rd/2nd line tweener in his second playoffs? alright.
Pyatt- has exceeded expectations. Flat out awful in the regular season, really turned it up. 2 goals, 2 assists.
Rick Nash- 1 goal, 3 assists. Easily the biggest reason we're in this hole has been the non-production of Nash. He needs to have double what he has at this point in time, at least.
Boyle- 2 goals, 1 assist- That's fine. That's all.
G and McD, each with 1 goal and 2 assists is about what i can hope for from 2 defensive defensemen. G had the worst game of his career, but otherwise hasn't been bad.

It seems like our best players disappear in the playoffs every year. Is it the players or maybe the system as designed doesn't work well in the postseason?

Really. I cut him all the slack in the regular season. If he even had 4 points by this time, I'd be happy with him. He got hot going into the playoffs, and then said "NOPE. I'M DONE. **** Y'ALL"
