- Anisimov and Gudbranson are 1 year rentals that provide depth scoring and physicality. Once their contracts expire, NYR if free to allocate Trouba’s original 8M cap hit to Zibanejad, Kakko and (later) Lafrenière’s extensions.
- Ottawa once again weaponizes their cap space to provide a ‘’jail free’’ card to New York and acquire a top 4D.
- At 8M, Trouba is grossly overpaid. His 6M real dollars salary make him somewhat attractive to the Sens.
