I’m wondering what either side would need to add to make a Josh Norris for Arturri Lehkonen trade work. Colorado needs a 2C and Norris is capable (his shoulder issues are behind him now). Ottawa needs more players like Lehkonen who play similar to Brady. How would this trade work?
I don’t see how it would.
Lehkonen is prob one of, if not the best value contract on the Avs. So unless the Avs are getting a better player than Lehkonen in a deal, there would be no logical reason to move him.

Avs say no without much deliberation, but maybe regret it in 5 years.
I think Josh Norris would be a good get for the Avs. He has the skating ability to be able to be a good fit. But it’s unlikely that they would do it by giving up their better players for it. The avs need to upgrade on weaknesses at this stage. Not move around the deck chairs.

One of the biggest issue is going to be the roughly $3.5m higher cap hit from Norris. On top of that, Lehkonen is currently performing at a higher level and has shown to be extremely clutch. Based on this (as a biased Avs fan) I would argue that Lehkonen has a good amount of value more than Norris.

I’m not opposed to a larger trade, but Ottawa would need to add a decent chunk of value to balance this out.

Premise is ridiculous to say the least. Norris shoulder injuries are behind him? Yeah right lol

How do we make it work? We cannot.

Maybe a trade or Mittelstadt+Lehkonen for Norris+Batherson (50% retained)? Cap is essentially a wash. Colorado gets faster and slightly younger and fills the 2C spot. Ottawa gets an elite two-way winger and a cheaper middle 6 center who clearly needs a change of scenery.

I have zero interest in relying on Norris as 2C. His shoulders are mostly made of papier maché at this point.

Also why on earth are we including Lehkonen in any deal? WTF?

For those of you who don't know, norris for his last surgery went to the same doctor as taresanko did. He's been good since and so has hank, I trust his shoulder more then I trust mittlestat at center 2 for either team.

I don’t even think the injury was even worth discussing because I didn’t even think it’d make it past thanks, no thanks

Lehkonen is simply not for sale. He's clutch AF, he's on a sweetheart deal, he's the coach's pet (for good reason).

Norris could be a good fit but it would be a different-looking deal. Nichuskin would be traded before Lehkonen IMO

I rate those players pretty equally. I understand nukes issues, but he’s one of the reasons Colorado is successful.. not to mention if he can stay healthy and stay clean his contract is really good
