Marelli got a (deserved) match penalty so he is done for the night and might miss the next couple of games as well. Considering the 4-0 score, Ottawa has played better than you might expect; the shooting skill (and luck) London has had so far combined with Nelson’s forgettable start is the difference. London has a 3 minute PP to start the second so we are likely in for more pain shortly.

Ottawa has had some real chances and we consistently miss the net every time. London picks corners. It in some ways has been that simple. 🤷🏻

So while that was terrible the team overall (outside of finish, taking penalties, PK, and goaltending) looked alright against good competition. Whitehead and Esh were bright spots - that might be the best I’ve seen Whitehead engage and skate, and Esh continues to look like a top-pair D man at 16.

Well, some horrific goaltending by Ottawa rendered that game over by the end of one. The first three on Nelson were awful. The fourth was a tip.

Anyone that thinks Conway is anything more than a rostered BUG needs to rethink their stance.

Par for the course penalty killing again today.

Par for the course low shooting% again as well.

The team lacks scoring finish. They are just terrible on the PK and show a poor lack of discipline taking aggressive penalties that serve no purpose. That was all highlighted badly today.

I’ve sort of been waiting for a result like this one and we finally got one. A game where every negative aspect of their game was exposed all at once and exaggerated too.

I’m not sure why MacKenzie was given the entire weekend off. Seems odd to me. Maybe nursing an injury or has the team pretty much made a decision on their OAs?
