I'm higher on Dobson than most and lower on Tkachuk on most and this is still NYI AINEC. Do the sens really want two injury prone players taking up 17million cap space?
This trade doesn't make any sense, nor is the value close. Ottawa stays far away from 2 injury prone players.

That's fine but the value....I mean, Shane Pinto? He's worth, what, the same as every other 20 goal scorer that's overpaid in the NHL?
Dobson may be one-way but he's top 10 in D-scoring the past three years....I'm sure a bunch of teams would love that ability if all they have to give up is a replaceable possible 20 goal forward.

Not factoring injury concerns, Tkachuk >> Barzal. Dobson is better than Pinto for sure, but Pinto is more of a need for Ottawa at the moment.

Value is good for Ottawa but the deal doesn't make sense because their position of weakness is VERY CLEARLY at forward, their defense is actually good (well, minus Hamonic)
Getting Barzal would be good but however a bit risky as 9.15 is pricey if he misses games. Dobson is not really a need, but more more offense from RHD wouldn't hurt of course. Ottawa can't really afford to trade Pinto IMO.
Of course, that deal would be IF Brady wants to go to a US team

Trade isn't bad until you weigh in the contracts and then you realize the sens add a lot of cap.
Also, if the sens feel they need to trade Tkachuk, or he asks out he's the type you send out west.

I would think that it's a little closer than most of the previous commenters have said, but I think Ottawa is the loser here.
