Fact is, though, Laf is probably the best draft eligible skater since AMatt, (Sandin might be close) and for a few years out.

For a longtime middling franchise hoping to reverse its path, a homegrown(ish) instant superstar is worth a huge pot of gold.
But my proposals have never insisted they take from their few young core(Tkachuk, Chabot,...)

Sens have 3 1sts this year, and next year's, and 7! 2ds across '20/'21. And some good prospects not yet established

They, and maybe Buff, have the resources to bundle excessive # of highupside youth to maybe tempt NYR.
But ultimately NYR likely take Laf and move ahead

Switch the Isles first-rounder with your #3 and #5 1st round picks this year, and the Ranges COULD consider it.

You need to overpay and overpay big.
If I’m Gorton I’m looking at a Lindros type deal minus the 15 million and maybe 1 or 2 players.
We have absolutely no reason to trade Lafreniere. None. We are not winning the cup within a few seasons with any of the names being mentioned including Jack Eichel or Brady Tkachuk.
So if you truly want him and expect to be fired for it...... here’s the cost.
