Canes fans were hopeful Jamieson Rees was starting to become a player after his 22-23 AHL season (65GP, 14G, 28A, 92 PIM) with the Chicago Wolves. But the Hurricanes lack of an AHL team in 23-24 really hurt Rees ability to build on his best season to date. He got inconsistent playing time in Springfield (no shade to Springfield, he was on loan to them) and wasn't able to do much in short stints in Charlotte and then Belleville after his trade to Ottawa.
