Rather have him then a guy like Bains.
Big Zack is a good player, I feel he has more to give, he is physical as well and has decent hands for his size, There is more there.

Not to mention i feel he fits the Tochett system well.

Look at the last 5 games for him, hes playing like 7 min a night, what do they want from him?

His game against LA and the couple games after that.

He had wheels and would take the puck into the zone with speed and drive the net and create chances.

He did that for 3-4 games.

That's what they want. His ice time went down because he stopped doing that.

Recently though, He would get the puck at half speed and dump it and then circle around for a bit but be too late to hit anyone.

That's the difference from what they want from him vs what they've got from him the last 5 or so games

Not to say he's not a good 4th liner. It's just his play has slowed down, and he's the easiest roster move to make.

He's got wheels and he's physical, so I'd take him on the Habs over like a lot of the players

I'd kick the tires on him in Buffalo and waive NAK.

He's been ok and wouldn't mind having him as the 13th guy but we need better skaters. The moves they made this offseason were weird and made this team much slower. Amadio and Perron notably, getting rid of Joseph.

I hope they'll recall Cole Reinhardt, I think he's going to be a very good 4th liner.

Plus MacEwen has 1 year left at 775K$, very expensive if he plays in the AHL.

I wish they had the balls to do that with Hamonic too

Yes I voluntarily forget it because it never made any lick of sense. Everyone who read my posts before know my thoughts on Dorion's work. I know the only way to get rid of him would be to trade him with his approval which might not even be possible, I don't know just one of these Dorion things

Not overly surprised he cleared with the extra year on his deal but this guy is absolutely a 4th line level player somewhere. Ottawa clearly made the easy move to inject a spark into the team with Ostapchuk but Cousins has been miles worse than Mac and should have been the one on waivers if all else was equal.

Good skater, underrated shot, willing fighter (not very good at it, but big enough he can get by). He'll be back with the big club at some point I would imagine, although he might be behind Ostapchuk and Cole Reinhart in the pecking order now.
