Waived: [OTT] F Zack MacEwen waived by the Senators (cleared)

He’s a 13th forward type guy.

He’s been noticeably better this year than previous years. Skates better, plays with more intensity and can put a puck on net. He looks a lot more like he did during his Vancouver days.

Could be worth a claim.
 
Thought he played decent last night, throwing his weight around so I was surprised he was waived.

Zero impact on the shortest amount of ice time except Hughes.
But at 6'3" 227lbs. no wonder I noticed him on that one play.
Always been a 4th line guy when he does play in the NHL and has so far only ever had one full season in the NHL.

He did play for Green for 1.25 seasons but I don't think he's a Green guy.

at least he can be physical on the 4th line. dont need to dress bains or even call him up.

He's been ok and wouldn't mind having him as the 13th guy but we need better skaters. The moves they made this offseason were weird and made this team much slower. Amadio and Perron notably, getting rid of Joseph.

I hope they'll recall Cole Reinhardt, I think he's going to be a very good 4th liner.

Plus MacEwen has 1 year left at 775K$, very expensive if he plays in the AHL.

I wish they had the balls to do that with Hamonic too
