Yes.Was it Pronger in the 90s that got hit with the shot and had his heart stop?
Either Lock or Fields would be viaible realistic solutions to this year. Both would have had more wins than Russ this year.I don't think he's ever been an elite QB. The Broncos didn't necessarily need an elite QB, they just needed much better than they had. This talk about him being paid like he's elite ignores the fact that he won't be in top 5 QB paid territory until 3 years from now and who knows there might be 5 or more QBs with a $55m cap hit that season. After that, the contract was designed to have a potential exit of about $30m and declining each year. In an ideal world, the Broncos have that time to find his successor and they can absorb that cap hit if the successor is on a rookie deal.
In the meantime please someone tell me who the Broncos had access to that would have done much better in this situation this year? And who could they have gotten next year that would have been better? No he's not elite but elite QBs are incredibly hard to get your hands on and even if you think you have drafted one they still need to be developed into one. Russ is more like Stafford. Stafford didn't go win the Rams the title by himself and has never been good enough to carry a bad team into top status. The rest of the very veteran and talented team he joined got them a title as his role was just to be better than Goff.
Yep we can't afford Sean Payton. We don't have the assets after our f***head GM have them all to Seattle.Saints probably called and told them what the compensation would have to be and Penner/Paton hung up on them. Broncos need that first this year in the worst way, I'd just say no. If the comp was reasonable, say a couple of mid round picks, I'd agree Payton is a great choice. But since the Gruden "trade" of multiple firsts for a coach the market seems pretty set at a ridiculous level.
Shannon Sharpe has about had it with Skip.
He wasn’t even there when Skip was forced to clarify his tweet yesterday.
And I’ve changed my mind about that tweet. It’s clear that f***ing idiot has to make everything about himself.
If Skip just said vanilla things that most people were thinking would he have a job? These guys know love or them or hate them, millions wait to hear what they say next.

That makes it even worse.Skip truly is an idiot lol that said according to pretty much everyone who works with him, he's actually a very nice guy and people enjoy being around him. He essentially plays a character on tv/twitter.
I don’t think such a line exists.Skip is the perfect villan for most people. Easy to hate, but not enough to stop watching. I also assume it would be hard to another talking head that always in contrast with how most people think. Can't really have a show like that if both the hosts just agree with one another all the time.
It must. You constantly hear people moan and groan about that guy, but the keeps putting up great ratings for ESPN.I don’t think such a line exists.
Yeah but he could probably eat kittens live on the air and it would only increase ratings. Jeremy Clarkson got away for years being a racist asshole, it wasn’t until he attacked someone on set that he finally got fired, and even THEN immediately got a new show.It must. As long as the person has charisma, they will gain an audience. Both of them have their own brands of charisma, but it's definitely there. I personally don't mind it. There should be a wide range of different types of media for different people. Whether I like or agree with those people or not. You know as long as they're not out right preaching death and horrible acts against humanity.Yeah but he could probably eat kittens live on the air and it would only increase ratings. I’d be fine with that if it didn’t have such a detrimental effect on sports coverage as a whole. ESPN re-centered their entire approach to covering sports when they saw how much bigger the ratings for First Take were over SportsCenter. Any meaningful discourse always gets dumped on its ear because some loudmouth comes barging in with an idiotic take, be it Skip, Rome, Colin Cowbell, or a Bumstoolie of some sort.As long as the person has charisma, they will gain an audience. I'm kinda on the fence about that. If you don't have guys like that they don't get the ratings to exist. But I definitely wouldn't mind a show with cooler heads that isn't always about the argument.I’d be fine with that if it didn’t have such a detrimental effect on sports coverage as a whole. Pardon the Interruption was great for actual conversation instead of a shouting match.I'm kinda on the fence about that. If you don't have guys like that they don't get the ratings to exist. But I definitely wouldn't mind a show with cooler heads that isn't always about the argument.
I do remember liking that show. Haven't watched it in forever. I don't even ok now if it's still on.Pardon the Interruption was great for actual conversation instead of a shouting match.
This is sadly just the reality of having 24 hour sports channels and seemingly dozens of them. In the past with networks they didn't have to fill their hours with garbage. We just watched the games and if we didn't see them we got our 5 minutes of sports from the local sports guy. Come to think of it, are we really any better off now than we were back then? Same crap has happened to the "news" channels too,I’d be fine with that if it didn’t have such a detrimental effect on sports coverage as a whole. Looking at it , skip to avoid controversy needed to split the tweet into 2 message. First for the health of Hamlin and that this game doesn’t matter that night on Monday.I'm kinda on the fence about that. If you don't have guys like that they don't get the ratings to exist.
