Since 2019, not a single Danish player has been selected in the NHL draft. A drought that many Danes are hoping will end early during the 2023 NHL draft. The man to break the drought is Oscar Fisker Mølgaard. Playing for HV71 in the SHL, Mølgaard has impressed many throughout the season. Despite only putting up seven points in the SHL, the fact that he played 41 games is impressive. Not many born in 2005 is able to cement a spot in one of Europe’s best leagues.

While he hasn’t produced on the scoreboard in the SHL, he has been able to show his offensive skillset in the J20 Nationell (the Swedish junior league). Here he had 27 points in 21 games which is admirable. He has also been representing Denmark at three different world championships throughout the season. A feat that shows he can be relied on in multiple situations and in both ends of the ice.

Fisker Mølgaard’s game is defined by his hockey IQ and his high compete level, which have combined to land him a legitimate role in the SHL this season as a teenager bouncing between the second and third line for HV71.

Averaging just under 15 minutes of ice time in the SHL with HV71 and had a strong tournament for Denmark's U20 team at the D1A World Juniors.

Is there a timetable foe him signing with the Kraken?

I wouldn't expect him in north america before 2025.
Of course he'd start in the AHL with the Firebirds.

He will need another year in the SHL, and probably 1-2 years in the AHL before he is ready. But he seems like a solid late 2nd round pick and has shown good progress so far.

Appreciate the information.

I was actually wondering why he had not been playing games. Figured it was injury but could not find out much about it.

What type of injury did he have? Also, is there a timeline for his return?
Hand/wrist second shift of the season, ready to return. Will play with Borgström and Ang on the second line.
