Post and keep updated a roster with the team used.

This way one keeps track of one's own franchises used plus it can help if one mistakenly thought player x was representing franchise y when in fact the player represents franchise z.

(Also please note franchise on the main thread when you make your pick)

Then all can go smoothly.

Baltimore has the best 2nd pairing and best 4th line, to go with arguably best netminding, meaning... BEST DEPTH PLAY!

St-Jean has the best 1st line & top pairing, but Shea Weber on the 2nd pairing? Ward?

Gallifrey has Mahovlich, Schriner, Coffey and penalty-heavy Cleghorn in key positions in front of Tretiak. But Howe & Crosby help.

Pittsburgh has a Ramsay - Fedorov - Martinec 4th line and an odd 2nd line but otherwise excellent depth.

We feel that our first line is the most talented in the league. Gretzky is obviously the superior center, but we have the advantage on both wings, particularly on the right side. Also, we feel that we have a nice fundamental advantage with two of the big four on the roster.

Not too worried about Cleghorn's penalties. The grit that he brings should be more than enough to make up for that, and when it comes to the penalty kill, we have guys that can fill in more than admirably if need be.

I'm not sure what the problem with Mahovlich would be. He's a top five left winger of all time, imo, and I don't think one could argue that he's soft. I could see that argument for Schriner, but with the defensive corps that we have and Clarke as his center, he should be plenty well protected.

Coffey being paired with Cleghorn should give him plenty of leash to do his thing without leaving Tretiak out to dry. Cleghorn should be plenty reliable back there.

You have Hasek, who many may consider as the best goaltender, correct. But, Brodeur and Hall are clearly the best and «deepest» duo, here. In fact, Hall is better than every back-up netminder and some peopple may argue he’s better than some starter.

Also, you’re correct, Shea Weber is on my second pair. But he’s a righty and I didn’t want him to play on his wrong side. What about having Brad Park on the third pair? Park is better than some second pair defensemen from other teams.

Brodeur and Hall on the same team is a waste, you BURNED a talent-rich Chicago pick for an unnecessary backup (you could've had Kane, Toews, eh?).

Those two are the biggest workhorses. Pick one and leave your last round to a knitter 'cuz there'll be enough time to make sweaters for the whole family.

Him on a pairing above Tim Horton?

THAT makes no sense. Weber has a decent shot. I loved the guy in Nashville. But Horton was much more than his great defensive play. Some consider him a Langway type when he is closer to a Pronger.
