Our D is terrible and yet Maurice keeps going to our worst pairs...

Mikkola - Kulikov is bad bad bad, yet he can't stay one game without going back to it.

Uvis isn't cutting it... I don't care you all hate Adam but this is getting ridiculous... Both vanilla players but atleast one has some great tools, Uvis is just clueless and skating on the perimeter never taking any chances... It's ridiculous.

Schmidt looks cooked ! He should be a rotation-player on our bottom-pair, but keeps being played because we need his intangibles in the lineup, we get it... The guy can crack a joke and loosen a lockerroom but damned, he just looks so bad too.

I agree. Boqvist is fairly young and has dealt with a ton of injuries, there's still some potential there. His past seasons in CBJ are also better than anything Balinskis has done. Almost half a point per game over 133 games (3 seasons) is serviceable.

Yeah doesn't look like Nate Schmidt will have a resurgence with us..perhaps injuries and aging have taken their toll.

another vote for more of boqvist on D. it's not necessarily the mistakes from balls, which all the guys make occasionally. it's the fact he's in there to provide a little offense and the guy just cannot get a shot through from the point to save his life.

tough game tonight. score isn't a true reflection of the game, obviously. van is playing well defensively but we're also not helping ourselves. they aren't giving us space and we're not doing a good job of putting pucks where our guys have a chance so we're just seeing the occasional flurry.

I don't get the criticism of our D corps on the defensive side of the game - especially Schmidt. 2 goals came of odd-man rushes where the Dmen always are in a bad spot in such a situation due to the missing backchecking forwards. Another one of a crazy bounce where Bob completely lost orientation, and a PPG that can always happen.

VAN took the playback from Seattle and just played very solid defensively. Our forwards were pretty weak in this game, especially the Lundell line.

Where we are definitely weaker than before is the offensive side of our D. But throwing them all under the bus after a game where our forwards did not manage to score? Come on.

Feels like most games in Vancouver is a L. Maybe I'm wrong since I never finish the 10pm games.
