After getting shutout on home ice in Game 3 of their second round, AHL playoff series by the San Diego Gulls, the Ontario Reign are looking to hit the reset button and get back to playing their brand of hockey.

How are they preparing for this weekend, when Games 4 and 5 will be played? What are they doing to address issues that cropped up in Game 3?

For all that, check out...

Ontario Reign Looking To Get Back On Track Heading Into Big Playoff Weekend

Big game tomorrow night with a chance to go up 3-1 or drop a second game in a row to go 2-2. I think we'll see a sharper team on Friday.

As for his team getting shutout in Game 3, Stothers stressed getting traffic in front of the San Diego netminder Matt Hackett.

“That’s what you’ve got to do,†Stothers noted. “Every goalie’s good if they can see the puck. We’ve got to make sure, as we did with some of the goals—get in front of him, get some traffic.

Hackett's been strong this series, so getting traffic in front of him is the only way they're going to beat the Gulls. It'd be nice to get Brodzinski back.

My grandson participated in the Lil' Kings program and got to do a scrimmage on Reign Ice after the first period of the close out game against San Jose. The same group will be doing another scrimmage on Saturday night. If they can win tomorrow night I may be there for both close-out games... Very nice! :yo:

You're a Ducks fan who hails from Ontario/Kings fan from San Diego, who do you root for?

Kings fan from San Diego here -- root for the Gulls. If the Reign beat them, get behind the Reign for the rest of the playoffs. Once a Gull is promoted to a Duck, they become the enemy until/unless they're returned to San Diego.

It does actually kinda make a perverse sense -- the Kings pulling players up from Ontario makes the Reign weaker, which benefits the Gulls, so I root for as many Reign players to be called up as possible, both to benefit the Kings and to indirectly benefit the Gulls.

Yes, there's mental gyrations to be done :)
