Hockey players and their aversion to the spotlight.
It's odd isn't it?
Every other sport the stars are just lapping up the attention and fame. Hockey players get noticed at dinner and their entire world falls apart.
I don't get it either, I can't think of another sport where the players are this gun shy of the celebrity status that comes with the job and the money. They all want bigger pay cheques but don't seem to want to do the things the athletes in other sports do to grow the revenue streams.
And I'd like to think that we are relatively modest when it comes the leaving people to f*** alone when they aren't working. You get noticed more sure, but I'd like to think we aren't castigating you for a poor performance.
I don’t see it as aversion to the spotlight. It’s probably more like an aversion to randos recognizing you everywhere you go. Even on days where you’re not feeling like socializing and want to be left the hell alone.Hockey players and their aversion to the spotlight.
Carolina isn’t a cityGive me 6 million a season and you could talk to me whenever you want, hell you could take me out for dinner.![]()
It's crazy too because they want more money and yet more fame and attention brings with it more money such as sponsorship deals and so on and it helps grow the sport. It's odd isn't it?
