I'm not a disgruntled fan and I wouldn't go to an open practice.

It's a weekday - plenty of people are working and students are in school. I was expecting no more than 1000 people so by my expectations, 4000 is impressive.

That seems like a lot to me.
I imagine very few know of it and those that do are probably working or in school.

I was going to go, but couldn't convince my brother to get up and hop on the Go train at 7:30am this morning.

It's a practice during a work day. It's a pretty good number if you ask me.

In Minnesota yesterday they had 15,000 at an open practice. The talking heads on radio speculated at least 10,000 would be there today, and that was due to (only) the lower bowl being open to the fans.

people work, leaf tickets for the whole season appear to have sold out in less than 2 seconds judging from my experience today

Wasn't theirs in the evening though?

Who cares.

The Leafs don't even plan on being competitive this season based on their current roster. At least there is hope in Winnipeg and Minnesota.

Kind of surprised to hear on TSN radio that there are only 4000 people there taking in the open practice. Me thinks the fans are disgruntled:(

Just because only a few thousand people showed up does not mean fans are disgruntled. You are assuming facts not in evidence. People have jobs and kids are in school. If they had done this on Saturday it could have been very very different.

You think Winnipeg's roster looks significantly better than Toronto's?

The fact that I didn't drive down to Toronto at 9am on a Thursday to watch a hockey practice doesn't mean I'm disgruntled. It means I have a job and my sanity.

yeah am sure many folks will use a sick day to watch a.... practice

but damm too early for me, as much as i like to visit the acc
