this term has been used for years....I've known it for at least 30.

I won't hear the phrase "taxi squad". I keep hearing this a lot on TSN. I don't understand how anyone came up with it. It has nothing to do with a taxi. Why can't people just call it a team roster reserve, or something like that?

I fully agree on that one. It´s one of the most annoying sounding words I´ve ever heard.

Lets make it clear - you'd rather not have Olympic hockey so that you would not have to hear this phrase?? :)

Damn...

It doesn't bother me at all, and if you let something as small as a term like that bother you, good luck when you get into the real world kid.

I can deal with the real world. I'm just talking about a little thing that annoys me. Believe me, I have dealt with much larger issues. I'm glad I am not the only one who thinks this term is odd. ;)

They wanted to put McCabe on the roster but couldn't because there were vets ahead of him. So the taxi squad was invented.
