Latvia said they will host one of the final qualifying groups, facing France, Austria and a qualifier.

Preliminary round 1 in November has been cancelled. Qualification tournaments will begin in December with the second round.

Heh, been a while since Thailand got scored 50+ goals against in a game versus Kazakhstan. Maybe won't be quite as bad this time against Estonia, but rather ugly that's guaranteed to get.
So with the IIHF semi annual congress going on in Vilamoura, Portugal, more details about the qualification format are being released.
First thing, UAE are out of the picture and replaced by Kyrgyzstan so Chinese Taipei and Thailand are moving up.

In case the IIHF decides otherwise at its March meeting, we can assume the best runner-up from the 3rd Preliminary round qualifies to the final one and the one from the final round will go to Milano/Cortina.

Riga(Latvia) group: Latvia, France, Austria + one team from play in

Was shocked Estonia is playing in this, they could trample everyone in their group by double digits if they so chose to. Hell, their U20 team would probably be favorites to win this group.
Have to like the IIHF has no update for these qualification rounds. Their site still hasn't updated from the 2022 qualification.

The IIHF actually shut down the stream after goal 14.
But the ÍHÍ went through the entire game.
